Joining an Enshrouded Server by Name or IP

Enshrouded·May 20, 2026·8 min read

Enshrouded multiplayer begins once you can actually get into the server. Small detail, big consequences. Whether you are building a base in Embervale, exploring the Fallen Realm, or leveling up with friends, there are two reliable ways to join: search by server name in-game, or connect through Steam with the server IP and port.

Join by Enshrouded Server Name

Using the server name is usually the simplest option because everything happens inside Enshrouded. If you host with HolyHosting, the server name can be checked or changed from the server panel, usually in the customization or startup settings area. Pick a name your group can recognize easily, then follow these steps.

  1. Launch Enshrouded, choose Play, then select Join when prompted.
  1. Select Search For Server Name, enter the server name, and click Confirm.
  1. Wait for the server to show in the list, then press Join.
  1. If the connection succeeds, the game will load you into the server so you can start playing.

Connect with an IP Address and Port

You can also connect through Steam's Game Servers window. This method is useful if you want to save a server manually, but it can be a little less consistent than searching by name. Before starting, copy the server's IP address and port from your hosting control panel. The format usually looks like `123.45.67.89:25606`.

  1. Open Steam, click View in the top-left menu, then choose Game Servers.
  1. In the Game Servers window, click the Plus icon and enter the server IP address and port.
  1. Wait for the server entry to appear, select it, and click Connect.
  1. If everything is correct, Enshrouded should open and place you into the server.

If the Server Does Not Appear

If your Enshrouded server does not appear in the in-game list, refresh the search and confirm the server is online. A server that is stopped, restarting, or having a temporary issue will not accept connections. Restarting the game can also help if the list refuses to update.

Steam's Game Servers list can be pickier. If the server is online but does not appear, refresh the list or try the alternate port shown in your panel. For example, a port such as `25606` may need to be changed to `25607`, depending on the additional ports assigned to the server. If none of those options work, contact HolyHosting support with the server name, IP, port, and what happens when you try to connect.

Helpful Next Steps

After joining successfully, consider setting a clear server name and adding a password if you only want friends to connect. It is less dramatic than finding hidden lore, but it prevents random visitors from turning your carefully built home into public property.
