A greatsword build in Enshrouded is built around heavy commitment. You trade quick pokes for huge two-handed swings, then support that style with stamina management, defensive tools, and gear that rewards melee pressure. When it works, enemies stop being problems and start being impact tests.

This build focuses on weapons, armor, and skills that improve greatsword damage while keeping your Flameborn alive in dangerous fights. It is especially relevant in the Wake of the Water Update and later progression, where stronger enemies make careless swings expensive.

Greatswords can appear earlier in an adventure, but the build becomes much stronger with late-game tools. Skills such as Blood Rage, Vigorous Deflection, and Titan Edge help turn a slow, heavy weapon into a reliable frontline option. The goal is not to spam attacks. It is to choose openings, manage stamina, and punish enemies hard when they overextend.

Update #7 added greatswords and several skills that support two-handed play. Prioritize damage, stamina recovery, parry value, and mobility. A greatsword user who cannot move is just a very dramatic training dummy.

A greatsword does not replace healing, mana, or food. Bring health and mana potions for longer fights, then add food that improves damage, defense, or health regeneration. Useful options include Open Sandwich, Grilled Crab Meat, Strawberry Milkshakes, and Rooibos Tea.

- Manage stamina carefully. Greatsword swings cost stamina, and missed attacks can leave you exposed.
- Be patient. Wait for openings instead of mashing attacks into blocks or evasive enemies.
- Use mobility skills. Double Jump and similar utility skills help you reposition and survive when enemies crowd the fight.
