1. Introduction

This Policy explains how HolyHosting uses cookies and similar technologies on holy.gg and its subdomains, what purposes they serve, what control the user has over them, and how this Policy relates to the Privacy Policy.

This Policy forms part of HolyHosting's contractual framework and must be read together with the Terms and Conditions, the Privacy Policy, and other policies published at holy.gg/legal.

2. What are cookies and similar technologies

Cookies are small text files that a website stores on the user's browser to remember information between visits. Other technologies with equivalent functionality also exist, such as localStorage, sessionStorage, tags, pixels, and scripts. This Policy applies both to cookies and to these similar technologies.

Cookies may be first-party, when set directly by holy.gg, or third-party, when set by an external provider loaded from the site. They may be session cookies, deleted when the browser is closed, or persistent cookies, which remain for a defined period of time.

3. How HolyHosting groups its cookies

HolyHosting classifies cookies into two categories, reflected in the configuration banner available on holy.gg.

3.1. Essential (always active)

These cookies are strictly necessary for the site to function correctly and to remember basic browsing preferences. They do not require user consent, since without them the site could not reasonably operate.

HolyHosting currently uses the following first-party cookies within this category:

1. holy_lang: stores the language selected by the user so that the site is displayed in that language on future visits.
2. holy_currency: stores the currency selected by the user for price display.
3. holy_cookie_consent: stores the user's decision regarding the cookie banner, indicating whether the user accepted, declined, or configured preferences, so that the banner is not displayed again on every visit.

Additionally, the Cloudflare services that protect the site against malicious traffic, automated attacks, and bots may set minimal technical cookies necessary to distinguish human traffic from automated traffic. These cookies are managed by Cloudflare and are deemed essential due to their security purpose.

3.2. Tracking (opt-in)

These are measurement, analytics, or marketing cookies that are activated only when the user expressly accepts them through the configuration banner or through the site's configuration control.

If the user accepts them, holy.gg loads the Google Tag Manager container (identifier GTM-T6XNJP84). Google Tag Manager is a Google tool that acts as a container to manage and deploy measurement, analytics, or marketing tags. The container itself does not set tracking cookies by default, but it allows HolyHosting to publish within it tools that do.

The specific cookies that are actually set depend on the tags published within the container at any given time. These tags may include, depending on HolyHosting's operational and commercial needs, tools such as Google Analytics, Google Ads, Meta Pixel, or other equivalent tools. When active, these tags may set their own cookies, for example cookies of the `_ga`, `_gid` family or others associated with the corresponding provider.

If the user does not accept this category, Google Tag Manager is not loaded, no tag is executed, and the associated cookies are not set.

4. Third-party cookies and technologies

Some functionalities of holy.gg rely on external providers that may set their own cookies or similar technologies.

4.1. Google (Google Tag Manager and associated tools)

Google Tag Manager is loaded only when the user accepts the tracking category. The tools that are actually executed through Google Tag Manager depend on the tags published by HolyHosting within the container at any given time, and may include Google Analytics, Google Ads, or other measurement or marketing tools. When these tools are active, they may set their own cookies to measure browsing behavior on an aggregated or pseudonymized basis. Google processes such data in accordance with its own policies, available at policies.google.com/privacy. Data may be transferred to and processed in the United States.

4.2. YouTube

When a holy.gg page includes an embedded YouTube video and the user interacts with such content, YouTube may set its own cookies for operation, recommendation, or measurement. These cookies are managed directly by YouTube and are governed by Google's privacy policy.

4.3. Cloudflare

Cloudflare operates as a security layer, CDN, and protection against attacks. To perform that function, it may set minimal technical cookies, for example to distinguish human traffic from bots. These cookies are deemed essential and are loaded independently of the banner.

5. Browser local storage

In addition to cookies, HolyHosting may use the user's browser localStorage to save client-side information, such as display preferences, the cookie banner state, interface configuration, or temporary data necessary for the site's functioning.

localStorage is not automatically transmitted to the server with each request and remains in the user's browser until the user manually deletes it or clears it through the browser settings.

6. Scope of the cookie banner

The cookie configuration banner and this Policy apply to the main landing page holy.gg and to the public pages associated with that landing.

Subdomains operated by HolyHosting that have a different nature are not covered by the same banner:

1. clientes.holy.gg, a management panel based on Blesta. This panel uses only technical cookies that are strictly necessary for the user's session, authentication, security, and panel functionality. It does not load third-party analytics, measurement, or marketing tools, and therefore does not require a consent banner.
2. estado.holy.gg, a status page operated through HetrixTools in its default public configuration. Any cookies that this service may set are managed directly by HetrixTools in accordance with its own policies.
3. panel.holy.gg and other technical panels, when available, use only cookies that are strictly necessary for authentication, session, and panel functionality.

7. How to manage your preferences

The user may manage cookie preferences in several ways.

7.1. From the configuration banner

The first time the user accesses holy.gg, a banner appears that allows the user to accept all cookies, save preferences specific to each category after configuring it, or close the banner to review the configuration later.

7.2. From the site

The user may modify preferences at any time from the cookie configuration control available on the site. If the option is not visible on a subsequent visit, the user may delete the site's cookies from the browser to force the banner to reappear and reconfigure preferences.

7.3. From the browser

The user may also block, delete, or limit cookies directly from the browser settings. Each browser, whether Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge, Brave, Opera, or another, offers its own controls. To delete cookies and localStorage data stored by holy.gg, the user may use the standard functions of the browser, generally available under "Settings", "Privacy and security", or "Clear browsing data".

Blocking essential cookies may affect the proper functioning of the site, the client area, or the contracted services.

8. International transfers

Some providers cited in this Policy, in particular Google, process data on servers located outside the user's country of residence, primarily in the United States. These transfers are governed by the applicable policies and legal mechanisms of the corresponding provider.

9. Relationship with the Privacy Policy

This Cookies Policy supplements HolyHosting's Privacy Policy, published at holy.gg/legal/privacy, which describes in greater detail what data is collected, for what purpose, and the user's rights.

In the event of a conflict between the two, the Privacy Policy shall prevail solely with respect to the general processing of personal data.

10. Modifications

HolyHosting may update this Policy when necessary to reflect technical, operational, legal, or third-party provider changes.

For substantial changes, HolyHosting will notify users at least 30 days in advance via email, the client area, or another official channel.

For minor, corrective, or clarifying changes, the version in force shall be the one published at holy.gg/legal/cookies.
