October is build season for anyone who thinks Minecraft could use more haunted houses, cursed castles, graveyards, pumpkins, and suspiciously dramatic lighting. The Great HolyHosting Halloween Build Off gives players a chance to create a spooky Minecraft build and compete for prizes.

The Great HolyHosting Halloween Build Off

The Halloween Build Off is a Minecraft building competition focused on frightening, creative, and original Halloween-themed creations. Builders submit their best work, then a staff panel selects the top five entries for a community vote on Discord.

Start and End Dates

The Great HolyHosting Halloween Build Off begins on October 21st at 12pm EST. Submissions close on October 29th at 12pm EST.

After submissions close, a HolyHosting staff panel will judge entries based on creativity, technical skill, and overall impression. The top five builds move on to the Discord community vote.

Entry Requirement

• Participants must be members of the HolyHosting Discord server.

Build Rules

• Builds must be made on the Halloween Build Off Minecraft server using vanilla version 1.21.1.
• Builds must follow the Halloween theme.
• Entries must be original creations.
• Builds must be made in Creative mode.
• Each participant may submit one entry.
• All entries must be complete by 12pm EST on October 29th.

Prizes

The competition includes up to $100 in Steam gift cards for winners.

• 3rd place: $25 Steam Gift Card

A strong Halloween build needs more than a few jack-o-lanterns, though those rarely hurt. Focus on atmosphere, detail, originality, and how the full build feels when players walk through it.
