Five Enshrouded Builds to Try: Warrior, Ranger, Wizard, Healer, and Assassin

Enshrouded·November 7, 2024·51 min read

Enshrouded offers a flexible character system that lets players shape Flameborn around different weapons, stats, skills, and armor sets. With Souls of the Frozen Frontier, Update #4, these five builds are strong options for new players, returning players, or anyone who wants a clearer direction before spending skill points like confetti.

Five Enshrouded Builds Worth Trying

The builds covered here are:

  • Warrior
  • Ranger
  • Wizard
  • Healer
  • Assassin

Each setup can be adjusted, but these foundations preserve the core purpose of each playstyle. The best build for you depends on whether you prefer front-line pressure, long-range precision, spellcasting, party support, or stealth damage. Enshrouded also lets you borrow useful skills from other paths, so mobility and survival picks can appear in builds that are otherwise focused on damage or support. Treat the recommendations as starting points for armor, stats, weapons, and skills rather than locked class rules. If a boss, Shroud route, or multiplayer role asks for a different tool, swap it in.

Warrior

The Warrior is a versatile melee fighter that works in most combat situations. It uses swords, shields, maces, and even bows when needed, making it a practical all-rounder. This setup is not just about soaking damage. It also depends on weapon timing, blocking when necessary, and swapping to ranged attacks before flying enemies turn the fight into a comedy routine. The main idea is to stay durable enough to survive front-line pressure while still dealing reliable damage through critical hits, block breaks, and strong melee weapons.

Best Warrior Armor

The Soldier armor set is an excellent endgame choice for Warriors because it supports both offense and durability. The set increases critical potential while adding health, regeneration, stamina, and strong resistances. That makes it useful for players who want to stay in melee range rather than constantly retreating.

Warrior Weapons, Stats, and Skills

Use a one-handed mace with a bow for flexibility. Rotblood is a legendary mace with a 123 base damage modifier, 380 maximum durability, and 106 parry power. It is found in a chest in the Kindlewastes. Traitors Bow, also found in the Kindlewastes, has an 87 base damage modifier and increases arrow speed by 33%.

Prioritize Strength for 5% more melee damage per point, then Constitution for 50 health per point. Add Dexterity later if you rely on a bow.

Good skills include Jump Attack, Double Jump, Blink, Emergency Blink, Evasion Attack, Battle Heal, Multi-Shot, and Ranger. Play with high mobility, flank when possible, open with bow headshots, then swap to melee or shield play. Potions are still worth carrying because a Warrior can survive a lot, but not everything. Use blocking when enemies are predictable, then dodge or Blink away when groups start surrounding you.

Ranger

The Ranger focuses on ranged damage and survival. It rewards accurate players who can land headshots and stay away from melee pressure. This build needs preparation because arrows and stamina-restoring items are part of the playstyle. If you enjoy scouting a fight, opening from stealth, and kiting enemies through awkward terrain, Ranger fits naturally.

Best Ranger Armor

The Eagle Eye armor set improves ranged damage, stamina, critical hits, and mobility. These bonuses matter because Rangers spend stamina on aiming, repositioning, climbing, sprinting, and dodging. The set helps you keep distance while still pushing damage through critical shots.

The Eagle Eye armor set improves ranged damage, stamina, critical hits, and mobility.

Ranger Weapons, Stats, and Skills

Shadowbane is a strong Ranger bow with a 69 base damage modifier, 0.6-second draw speed, and +20% arrow speed. It can be found in a chest in Umber Hollow at the Nomad Highlands.

Prioritize Dexterity for 5% ranged damage per point, then Endurance for stamina. Intelligence can improve survival skills, especially healing. Dexterity can also be supported through consumables, rings, and skill choices, so the build has several ways to push bow damage without ignoring survival.

Useful skills include Double Jump, Blink, Sharpshooter, Begone!, Multishot, Ranger, Shell Shock, Chain Reaction, and Water Aura. Kite enemies, use stealth openings, and conserve stamina for dodging. Shell Shock and Chain Reaction are especially valuable when groups bunch together, while Water Aura gives a safety net if something reaches you before you can finish it.

Wizard

Update #4 reduced staff damage by 50%, but Wizard damage can still compete with Ranger output. The build uses mana and spell charges, and many powerful spells require careful timing. The Wizard is less about standing still and more about choosing safe casting windows, swapping between wands and staves, and avoiding unnecessary hits while mana recovers.

Fast spells are safer but weaker. Heavy spells like Shroud Meteor can take about 3 seconds to cast, so positioning matters.

Best Wizard Armor

The Elder armor set boosts magical critical chance, magical damage, and mana regeneration. That combination fits the Wizard's core loop: cast hard-hitting spells, recover mana, then reposition before enemies punish the cast time. Because many pieces are found in Sun Temple chests, this is a later-game target rather than an immediate starter set.

The Elder armor set boosts magical critical chance, magical damage, and mana regeneration.

  • Crafting Recipe: N/A (Found in a chest in the Sun Temple at the Kindlewastes)

Wizard Weapons, Stats, and Skills

Use the Scorching Wand for one-handed fire damage, 11% overcharge, and +2 mana regeneration. The Shroud Weaver staff can deal more damage, but it sacrifices shield defense.

Prioritize Intelligence for magic damage and Spirit for mana capacity. Skills such as Blink, Emergency Blink, Double Jump, Wand Master, Quick Charge, Sting, Radiant Aura, and Sun Aura support damage and survival.

Alternate between staves and wands, cast from elevation, keep distance, and consider Terror from Trickster for a 4-second stun on spell crits. A shield with a wand can give extra safety when enemies close in, while a staff lets you commit to larger bursts when the battlefield is under control.

Healer

The Healer is excellent for multiplayer and still useful solo if you dislike frequent deaths. It sacrifices damage for healing, revives, and party sustain, making it valuable on a shared HolyHosting server. The tradeoff is that a Healer must manage positioning carefully. Staying close enough for aura and healing effects matters, but standing in the middle of every enemy attack is not support, it is volunteering.

Best Healer Armor

The Sage armor set improves healing and reviving. Its bonuses are especially helpful in multiplayer, where faster revives and stronger healing can recover a fight after one teammate drops. The set also keeps enough resistance to help the Healer survive while casting under pressure.

The Sage armor set improves healing and reviving.

  • Special Effects: +4 Mana Regeneration | +12% Healing
  • Crafting Recipe: 2x Yellow Fabric, 2x Padding, and 1x Bronze Bars

Healer Weapons, Stats, and Skills

Use wands and staves. Scorching Wand is a good choice, while Root Staff is an endgame option with mana regeneration, critical hit chance, and poison damage bonuses.

Prioritize Intelligence, aiming for a high value such as 25 for stronger magic damage and healing. Add at least 10 Constitution to reduce the chance of being one-shot, then consider Spirit for mana. Spirit matters, but the source build treats it as less urgent than Intelligence and Constitution because resource orbs can help cover mana needs.

Core skills include Water Aura, Life Burst, Trigger, and Begone!. Open fights with strong staff charges, switch to wand attacks when mana is low, use Chain Heal for allies, and keep distance while casting. When overwhelmed, create space first, then heal. A missed heal can be recovered from, but being interrupted in melee range can end the fight quickly.

Assassin

Assassin uses stealth, backstabs, melee pressure, and ranged options. Enshrouded is not a pure stealth game, but its sneak and backstab mechanics make this build effective. It plays best when you start fights on your terms, remove a target quickly, then reposition before the rest of the enemy group can punish your lighter defenses.

Best Assassin Armor

The Rogue armor set improves backstab and melee damage, though it is not the most defensive option. That tradeoff fits the Assassin's purpose: start fights from advantage, remove enemies quickly, and avoid prolonged trades. If you are still learning enemy behavior, mixing in tougher pieces can make the build more forgiving.

The Rogue armor set improves backstab and melee damage, though it is not the most defensive option.

  • Special Effects: -120 Stamina Timeout Reduction | +4 Stamina Regeneration
  • Crafting Recipe: 4x Leather, 2x Padding, and 10x Scales

Assassin Weapons, Stats, and Skills

For melee, use the legendary Twin Soul Mace, which can increase critical hit chance by 30% when fully upgraded. For range, Wolf's Snarl Longbow is a useful option because its upgrades improve critical hit chance and magic damage.

Prioritize Dexterity, Strength, and Constitution. Dexterity improves bow damage, Strength improves melee damage, and Constitution supports health and healing. A health pool over 1,000 is important for survival, especially because this build often starts close enough to be punished if the opening attack fails. Raising the Flame Altar level can also help improve attributes, which supports the source build's emphasis on balance rather than pure damage stacking.

Use Battle Heal for sustain, Sneak Attack for surprise damage, and mobility skills such as Blink, Emergency Blink, and Double Jump. Potions and recovery food also matter because the Assassin alternates between melee openings and ranged fallback when outnumbered, especially after the opening backstab fails. Start fights from stealth, use potions and food, aim for backstabs, and swap to ranged attacks when outnumbered. The build is strongest when you avoid fair fights. Flank, strike, retreat, and repeat until the enemy stops having opinions. Across all five builds, the same rule applies: adjust around the content you are actually facing. A perfect damage setup is less useful if the Shroud timer, enemy type, or your resource supply keeps shutting it down. Swap gear, skills, and consumables when the situation asks for it. Warrior and Healer are safer when mistakes happen, Ranger and Wizard reward clean positioning, and Assassin performs best when fights begin with surprise. None of these builds has to stay pure. Borrowing one mobility or recovery skill can make the difference between a strong build and one that only works on paper.
