How to Craft and Use Wood Acid in Enshrouded

Enshrouded·December 19, 2024·7 min read

Wood Acid is tied to charcoal production in Enshrouded, but it becomes important well beyond the kiln. It is used for Tin Bars, medicine, alchemy materials, spells, and the Shroud Survival Flask, so having a steady supply saves plenty of backtracking.

Where Wood Acid Comes From

Wood Acid cannot be gathered from a normal resource node on the map. It is a crafted item unlocked after making Charcoal for the first time. To do that, place Dirt and Wood Logs into a Charcoal Kiln.

Once the Wood Acid recipe is available, craft it at the Charcoal Kiln with:

  • 15x Wood Logs
  • 3x Dirt

Each craft produces at least 10x Wood Acid.

Wood Logs come from chopping trees, and better axes speed that up. Dirt is gathered by using a Pickaxe on soil.

Wood Acid Recipes and Uses

At the time covered by the source, Wood Acid is only used as a crafting ingredient. That still makes it valuable, especially for medicines, alchemical products, bars, and utility items. The listed recipes below apply as of the Souls of the Frozen Frontier Update.

  • Shroud Survival Flask: 1x Charcoal, 1x Shroud Liquid, and 1x Wood Acid.
  • Heal Channel spell: 2x Aureolin Flower, 5x Bonemeal, and 1x Wood Acid.
  • Flare Arrow: 10x Flint Arrow, 1x Wood Acid, and 2x Resin.
  • Tin Bars: 20x Tin Ore, 5x Charcoal, and 1x Wood Acid.
  • Antiseptic: 1x Wood Acid and 1x Aloe.
  • Nitrate: 5x Sand, 5x Salt, 1x Wood Acid, and 1x Alchemical Base.
  • Purified Slime: 3x Charcoal, 1x Wood Acid, 3x Toxic Slime, and 10x Salt.
  • Shroud Survival Flash: 1x Charcoal, 1x Shroud Liquid, and 1x Wood Acid.
  • White Glowing Substance: 1x Wood Acid, 20x Bonemeal, 10x Mycelium, and 7x Dirt.

Because Wood Acid is cheap once the kiln is running, the real farming target is Wood Logs. Keep trees falling and the acid supply follows.
