Prefer deleting enemies with fire, poison, ice, and lightning instead of trading sword swings? A Wizard build in Enshrouded leans into that plan. It hits hard from range, spends plenty of mana, and occasionally remembers that robes are not the same thing as armor.

The main tradeoff is survivability. This build should avoid fair melee fights whenever possible, because most of its strength comes from ending fights before enemies can close the gap.
A strong Wizard is built around magic damage, mana sustain, critical hits, and enough mobility to avoid being flattened. The core pieces are the Wizard skill line, a good staff or wand, armor that boosts magic stats, Eternal spell charges, and food that keeps Intelligence and mana recovery high. Together, these choices make spell damage reliable instead of depending on one lucky weapon drop.

The Wizard branch is the main place to invest if the goal is better spell damage. Its minor nodes permanently raise Intelligence, Spirit, and Constitution.
The Wizard path can eventually be fully unlocked, but Skill Points come from leveling, so priorities matter early. These major nodes are the most important parts of the line:
For newer players, Arsonist and Pyromaniac are excellent early picks because Fireball and Fireball 2 stay useful for a long time. If extra points are available, branch into comfort skills such as Double Jump for exploration or Water Aura for passive health regeneration.

Weapon level and rarity depend heavily on where the item is found. A Scorching Wand from a late-game Kindlewastes chest can be much stronger than one found earlier. Still, several staffs and wands stand out for a Wizard.
The Shroud Weaver is one of the strongest Wizard staffs in Enshrouded. It is found in a Kindlewastes chest and can appear as a level 30 weapon, with some lucky drops reaching level 35.
Its bonuses push fire damage especially high. Fully upgraded, it can provide up to +18 fire magic damage, +5% critical hit chance, +1 health regeneration, and +20% backstab damage.
The Ritual Tempest Wand is a strong option for players who prefer wands. Pair it with spell charges such as Chain Lightning and it can clear enemies quickly.
This endgame wand is also found in a Kindlewastes chest. Its possible bonuses include up to +45 shock magic damage, +20% overcharge, and +1 mana regeneration.
The Root Staff competes well with Shroud Weaver for endgame staff users. Its spells can apply poison, wearing enemies down over time. It can also provide +10% critical hit chance, +9 poison damage, +1 mana regeneration, and 5% mana leech.
The Scorching Wand is found in a Kindlewastes chest in the City Ruins area. It is built for fire damage, starting with 37 base fire power and gaining another 9 fire damage through upgrades.
It also gives +10 ice magic protection and can leech mana for up to 10% of the magic damage dealt.

The Apprentice set is a fine starting point after the Alchemist is summoned, but the Elder set is the stronger long-term goal. It provides excellent physical and magical resistance while adding critical, mana, and magic damage bonuses.
The Elder armor pieces can be found near the Sun Temple in the southwest corner of the map. After finding the chest, place a marker, exit the game, and reload the save near that spot. This allows each piece of the set to be farmed more efficiently.
For rings, use the Commander’s Ring with the Ring of Rapacity. The Commander’s Ring adds 30 maximum health and 30 maximum mana. The Ring of Rapacity reduces maximum mana by 20% but gives 20% mana regeneration in return.
Note: Some players reported that equipping two Rings of Rapacity stopped working after Patch #1.

Most spells can work when backed by enough Intelligence and gear, but Eternal spells are the clear prize. Eternal variants are stronger versions of base spells, such as Eternal Ice Bolt compared with Ice Bolt. Use Eternal spells whenever possible to keep damage high without constantly replacing charges.

Consumables matter because Wizards are powerful but not especially sturdy. Early on, Red Mushrooms are useful because they temporarily add +1 Intelligence. Later, stronger food options include Mushroom Omelet for +4 Intelligence over 40 minutes and Roasted Azure Russula for +3 Intelligence over 25 minutes.
Mana Potions are also worth carrying. Mana does regenerate, but waiting for it while enemies surround you is not a strategy. It is a short lesson in regret.
