How to Connect to a Satisfactory Dedicated Server

Satisfactory·May 20, 2026·12 min read

Overview

Satisfactory drops you onto an alien planet with one clear assignment: turn wilderness into an efficient factory network. Between caves, hostile wildlife, conveyor belts, vehicles, trains, and drones, there is plenty to manage before the spaghetti of production lines starts managing you.

A dedicated Satisfactory server lets multiple players build, explore, and expand the same world together. Before joining, you need the server IP address and port, then you can add the server from the in-game Server Manager.

Find the Server Address

  • Open the HolyHosting control panel and log in.
  • Locate the server address shown as `IP:Port`.
  • Copy the full address and keep it somewhere easy to access.
  • Split the address at the colon. The part before the colon is the IP address, and the 5-digit number after it is the port.
  • Once the IP and port are separated, keep both ready for the next step.

Add the Server in Satisfactory

  • Launch Satisfactory and wait for the main menu to load.
  • Open Server Manager, then choose Add Server.
  • In the top field, enter only the server IP address, which is the part before the colon.
  • In the Port field, enter the 5-digit port from after the colon.
  • Press Confirm to save the server.
  • Select the server entry, then press Join Game.

Complete First-Time Server Setup

If nobody has joined this server before, Satisfactory will ask you to claim it and create the first world. This only needs to be done once unless the server is reset.

  • When prompted, enter the server name you want to use.
  • Enter and confirm the admin password for server administrators.
  • Choose one of the four available starting areas.
  • Enter a session name, then optionally enable the Join checkbox.
  • Press Create Game to generate the world.
  • After creation finishes, use Join Game to enter the server.

Common Connection Problems

That address does not seem to be valid means the game cannot reach the address you entered. Check that the server is online, then confirm the IP and port were placed in separate fields. Pasting the full `IP:Port` into one field is a classic small mistake with a very annoying result.

Your connection to the host has been lost usually points to a connection issue or a server that is not fully loaded yet. Make sure the server is online before joining. If you use mods in singleplayer, try disabling them before connecting, since mismatched mods can block server access.

This server appears to be offline often appears when a server was recently restarted or is still starting. Open your server panel, start the server if needed, and wait a few minutes. Larger worlds can take longer to become joinable.
