7 Days to Die drops players into a zombie-filled survival sandbox where combat, crafting, looting, mining, farming, and base building all matter. Playing alone can be tense, but joining a dedicated server lets you team up with friends, trade supplies, build safer settlements, or compete with other survivors if trust is in short supply.
As your world develops, the early days of scraping together food and shelter can turn into stronger bases, vehicles, and organized group survival. Before any of that happens, you need to know how to connect. This guide covers the two common options: joining directly with an IP address or using the in-game server browser.
Connecting by IP is the most direct method, especially for private servers or servers shared with friends.

After that, the game should move to a loading screen with game tips while it connects. Once loading finishes, you will spawn into the world and can start surviving, building, or immediately making questionable loot decisions.
The server browser is useful when you want players to find the server without copying a full IP address. It can also help confirm that the server is visible publicly.

If the server does not appear, double-check the server name, version, password settings, and any filters currently active in the browser.
