Best Spells in Enshrouded Ranked for Mages and Staff Builds

Enshrouded·March 11, 2024·19 min read

Spells in Enshrouded ask mages to manage both mana and spell charges. Mana comes back, but standard spell charges must be crafted again when they run out. That makes spell choice important, especially if your build leans on staff damage.

Best Enshrouded Spells Ranked

Many of the strongest spells are Eternal versions because they can be cast repeatedly as long as you have mana. Most require the Alchemist, while some charges can also appear rarely in chests around Embervale. If you play on a HolyHosting server with friends, farming the crafting materials together can save a lot of time.

7. Eternal Ice Bolt

  • Level: 17
  • Type: Staff Charge
  • Damage: 79
  • Element: Ice
  • Mana Cost: 82
  • Cast Time: 1.0s
  • Requirements: Alchemist and Alchemy Station
  • How to Get: Craft at the Alchemist using 30x Fossilized Bone Dust, 10x Water, and 20x Ammonia Gland

Eternal Ice Bolt is dependable because it casts quickly and does not consume limited charges. Its 1.0-second cast time makes it easy to use in many fights, though its damage is lower than the stronger entries on this list.

6. Eternal Fireball

  • Level: 17
  • Type: Staff Charge
  • Damage: 114
  • Element: Fire
  • Mana Cost: 94
  • Cast Time: 2.0s
  • Requirements: Alchemist and Alchemy Station
  • How to Get: Craft at the Alchemist using 30x Charcoal, 3x Bronze Bars, and 50x Amber

Eternal Fireball costs more mana and takes longer to cast than earlier Fireball spells, but it hits much harder than Fireball or Fireball 2. It is a solid general-purpose damage spell once you can support the mana cost.

5. Eternal Heal Channel

  • Level: 22
  • Type: Staff Charge
  • Damage: 43
  • Element: N/A
  • Mana Cost: 21
  • Cast Time: 1.09s
  • Requirements: Alchemist and Laboratory
  • How to Get: Craft at the Alchemist using 50x Lapislazuli, 10x Aloe, 10x Chamomile Tea, and 10x Sage Leaves

Not every good spell is built for damage. Eternal Heal Channel is a strong alternative to potions and helps Flameborn survive longer in the Shroud, especially when enemies are stronger than expected.

The crafting cost is demanding, so prepare to farm materials before relying on it heavily.

4. Lightning Channel

  • Level: 22
  • Type: Staff Charge
  • Damage: 20
  • Element: Shock
  • Mana Cost: 19
  • Cast Time: 0.3s
  • Requirements: Alchemist and Laboratory
  • How to Get: Craft at the Alchemist using 5x Enshrouded Oil, 1x Iron Bars, 1x Copper Bar, and 5x Charcoal

Lightning Channel requires you to keep channeling, which can be risky, but the damage comes out quickly. Holding the attack button deals about 20 damage every 0.3 seconds. From a safe boss position, it can tear through health bars quickly.

3. Eternal Light Burst

  • Level: 22
  • Type: Staff Charge
  • Damage: 21
  • Element: Fire
  • Mana Cost: 20
  • Cast Time: 0.8s
  • Requirements: Alchemist and Laboratory
  • How to Get: Craft at the Alchemist using 5x Iron Bars, 10x Charcoal, 30x Sulfur, and 20x Flintstone

Eternal Light Burst looks weak if you judge only the damage number. Its value is control. The spell hits nearby enemies in a full 360-degree radius, giving you room to reposition when groups close in.

2. Eternal Acid Bite

  • Level: 22
  • Type: Staff Charge
  • Damage: 165
  • Element: Poison
  • Mana Cost: 120
  • Cast Time: 3.0s
  • Requirements: Alchemist and Laboratory
  • How to Get: Craft at the Alchemist using 20x Glass, 10x Charcoal, 30x Sulfur, 20x Ammonia Gland, and 20x Poison Sack

Eternal Acid Bite is the upgraded version of Acid Bite and can melt enemies fast. The drawback is its high mana cost and long cast time. You need good positioning before casting, because standing still for three seconds in Enshrouded can become a formal invitation to get flattened.

1. Shroud Meteor

  • Level: 27
  • Type: Staff Charge
  • Damage: 205
  • Element: Shroud
  • Mana Cost: 135
  • Flame Power Cost: 5
  • Cast Time: 3.25s
  • Requirements: Alchemist and Laboratory
  • How to Get: Craft at the Alchemist using 2x Alchemical Base, 20x Nitrate, 20x Coal Powder, 20x Stone, and 20x Sulfur

Shroud Meteor is one of the most powerful spells in Enshrouded. It calls down a meteor that can hit up to five enemies in an area and deals major Shroud damage.

Its weakness is the 3.25-second cast time. You are vulnerable while charging it, so pair it with faster spells and cast from safer positions whenever possible.
