Best Assassin Build in Enshrouded: Skills, Daggers, Armor, and Tips

Enshrouded·February 14, 2025·24 min read

Assassin builds in Enshrouded are all about fast pressure, backstabs, critical hits, and getting out before enemies can return the favor. After Update 5, the playstyle remains flexible, but the best results come from stacking mobility, dagger damage, and survivability.

Enshrouded Assassin Build Overview

This build is a guide, not a prison sentence. Enshrouded rewards experimentation, so use these skills, weapons, armor, and consumables as a strong foundation while adjusting for your own combat habits.

The Assassin is a melee glass cannon. It borrows value from several parts of the skill tree rather than living in one narrow lane, which is why the build can look scattered at first. The important pattern is easy to spot once you play it: mobility keeps you alive, backstab bonuses create burst damage, and critical-hit sustain gives you just enough recovery to survive mistakes. It can deal heavy close-range damage, especially through enemy weak points, but it usually has less defense and health than sturdier builds like Warrior. That means your goal is simple: strike quickly, exploit openings, and move before the fight turns into a face-tanking contest you will probably lose.

High mobility skills such as Blink and Double Jump are especially valuable. Damage is important, but being alive to deal it is a neat little feature.

Best Assassin Skills

Prioritize skills that improve critical hits, dagger damage, backstab damage, stamina use, and movement. Useful Assassin skills include:

  • Double Jump: Requires 4 skill points. Allows a second jump while airborne.
  • Merciless Attack: Requires 2 skill points. Overpower an enemy and press E by default to deal massive damage.
  • Sneak Attack: Requires 3 skill points. Unlocks the Sneak Attack active skill.
  • Evasion Attack: Requires 4 skill points. Lets you attack while evading.
  • Battle Heal: Requires 3 skill points. Restores 5% of maximum health when dealing critical damage.
  • Arcane Deflection: Requires 3 skill points. Restores 20 mana after a successful parry.
  • Blink: Requires 4 skill points. Replaces the standard dodge roll with a short teleport.
  • Backstab Damage: Requires 2 skill points. Increases backstab damage by 25%.
  • Dagger Master: Requires 3 skill points. Increases dagger damage by 15%.
  • Poison Mastery: Requires 4 skill points. Increases poisoned blade damage by 100%.
  • Runner: Requires 2 skill points. Reduces stamina consumption by 10% and increases sprint speed by 10%.
  • Silent Strider: Requires 3 skill points. Increases sneak movement speed.
  • Opportunity: Requires 3 skill points. Increases sneak attack damage by 100%.
  • The Warrior's Path: Requires 2 skill points. Increases melee weapon damage by 10%.
  • Slasher: Requires 2 skill points. Increases cutting weapon melee damage by 10%.
  • Butcher: Requires 3 skill points. Increases cutting weapon melee damage by 20%.
  • Veteran: Requires 4 skill points. Increases melee critical hit chance by 10%.
  • Swift Blades: Requires 5 skill points. Increases attack speed with one-handed swords and axes.

Best Assassin Weapons

Ice-Coated Daggers

The Ice-Coated Daggers apply frost pressure, slowing enemies so you can control the fight more safely. A slowed target is much easier to finish before it becomes a problem.

  • Rarity: Legendary
  • Parry Power: 118
  • Attack Speed: 0.8 seconds
  • Damage Types: 50% cutting and 50% piercing
  • Enhancements: Cutting Damage, Precise, Merciless Strike, Retaliation, and Retaliation

Valor Heart Daggers

The Valor Heart Daggers are earned from the Daggers For The Bard quest. Their quick attack speed and poison damage make them strong for hit-and-run players.

  • Rarity: Legendary
  • Parry Power: 21
  • Attack Speed: 0.4 seconds
  • Damage Types: 40% cutting, 40% piercing, and 20% poison
  • Enhancements: Poisoned Blades, Cutting Damage, Sneak Attack, Poison Damage, and Sneak Attack

Parade Daggers

Parade Daggers offer excellent parry power. Use them to overpower enemies, then follow with Merciless Strike while the target is stunned.

  • Rarity: Legendary
  • Parry Power: 126
  • Attack Speed: 0.4 seconds
  • Damage Types: 10% cutting, 40% piercing, and 40% shroud
  • Enhancements: Poisoned Blades, Shroud Magic Damage, Shroud Magic Damage, Merciless Strike, and Merciless Strike

Vicious

The Vicious daggers are ideal for stealth-focused Assassins. Their enhancements improve backstab and sneak attack damage, which is exactly what this build wants.

  • Rarity: Legendary
  • Parry Power: 61
  • Attack Speed: 0.4 seconds
  • Damage Types: 50% cutting and 50% piercing
  • Enhancements: Poisoned Blades, Piercing Damage, Vicious, Vicious, and Sneak Attack

Arsonist's Bow

Assassins do not have to fight only at arm's length. The Arsonist's Bow supports a stealthy ranged approach and improves backstab damage from a distance.

  • Rarity: Legendary
  • Draw Speed: 0.6 seconds
  • Arrow Speed: +7%
  • Enhancements: Fire Magic Damage, Vicious, Precise, Stamina Leech, and Enduring

Best Assassin Armor

The Rogue armor set is the safest recommendation for an Assassin because it improves backstab and melee damage. Its defenses are not amazing, but that fits the role: kill quickly, reposition, and avoid taking clean hits. The set is especially useful because its bonuses point directly at the build's job: stronger backstabs, better one-handed melee damage, extra stamina, stamina regeneration, and enough health from the chest piece to reduce some of the glass-cannon problem.

The Rogue helmet improves backstabbing and Opportunity damage, while the gloves support one-handed melee attacks and damage against melee foes. The trousers and boots help stamina recovery, which matters when you are dodging, sprinting, and trying not to become decorative floor loot. If you find yourself dying too often, do not be afraid to trade some damage for sturdier pieces while learning enemy timing. A perfect stealth opener is great, but a living Assassin with slightly lower damage is still more useful than a stylish corpse.

Best Consumables

Bring health and mana potions, then add foods that improve Dexterity or restore key resources. Strong options include Meat Wrap, Open Sandwich, Stir-Fried Vegetables, and Fruit Bowl. These buffs are useful before deep Shroud routes, boss attempts, or multiplayer fights on a HolyHosting server.

Assassin Tips

  • Master backstabs. Avoid attacking from the front when you can flank, dodge behind, or open from stealth.
  • Keep moving. Standing still removes the main advantage of the build.
  • Watch enemy patterns. Learn when enemies commit to attacks, then punish those openings instead of trading blows.
