The Minecraft Copper Cape was tied to a community-wide quest chain rather than a standard claim button. Players across Java Edition and Bedrock Edition had to push through three large goals, with each stage unlocking its own rewards before the cape became available.

The Copper Cape was only made available after the Minecraft community completed three shared quests. These goals were intentionally huge, but most progress came from normal play as players interacted with copper golems and related event tasks.
Each quest included separate rewards for Bedrock and Java Edition. Joining late was not a problem for earlier stages, since participation was not required for every reward path, but rewards still had limited claim windows and needed to be claimed manually. Minecraft capes rarely wait around forever, which is rude but very on-brand.

The first quest ran from September 30 at 8:00 am PDT through October 6, 2025, at 10:00 am PDT. The community objective was to craft 75 million copper golems before the deadline.
After the goal was completed, Bedrock Edition players could claim a copper golem plushie creator item from the dressing room. Java Edition players could claim the Copper Chemist skin from the official Minecraft article here.

The second quest started on October 7 at 8:00 am PDT and ended on October 13, 2025, at 10:00 am PDT. This time, copper golems needed to organize 500 million items across the community.
Once completed, Bedrock Edition players were able to collect copper golem slippers in the dressing room. Java Edition players could claim the Copper Welder skin from the official Minecraft article here.

The final quest ran from October 13 at 8:00 am PDT until October 20, 2025, at 10:00 am PDT. During this last stage, Java Edition and Bedrock Edition players could earn the Minecraft Copper Cape in a few different ways:
These quests can no longer be completed. However, codes that were already earned through the Watch Time Quest or Twitch Con remained redeemable here until November 19, 2025.
