Where to Find the Breeze in Minecraft 1.21

Minecraft·June 26, 2024·5 min read

The Breeze is one of Minecraft 1.21's new Trial Chamber enemies, waiting underground in combat rooms built for challengers. If you want to fight one, you first need to find the structure it calls home.

Finding the Breeze

The Breeze spawns only inside Trial Chambers. These structures generate in the Overworld between layers -20 and -40, so there is no surface landmark that guarantees one is below.

After finding a Trial Chamber, explore its halls until you locate Trial Spawners surrounded by Chiseled Tuff. That block setup indicates the spawner can summon the Breeze.

The number of Breezes a Trial Spawner can spawn depends on how many players are nearby. Once cleared, the Trial Spawner can activate again after thirty minutes.

  • Maximum Mob Count: 1 + 0.5 Per Additional Player
  • Total Mobs Spawned: 2 + 1 Per Additional Player

Breeze Drops

  • Breeze Rod (1-2)
  • Experience (10)

The Breeze drops Breeze Rods in stacks of one to two. Breeze Rods can be broken down into four Wind Charges, used as part of crafting the Mace, or combined with diamonds to duplicate the Flow Armor Trim.

Wind Charges work like throwable projectiles similar to the attacks used by the Breeze. Use the “Use Control” button to throw them, which is right-click on a mouse or left trigger on a controller. After use, Wind Charges have a ten-second cooldown.

Their effect depends on the target. Throwing one at your feet launches you upward. Throwing one at another target knocks it back. Hitting interactable blocks such as doors and levers changes their active state.

Wind Charges are especially useful with the Mace, since the Mace deals more damage the farther the player falls before landing a hit.
