Minecraft 1.21 added more wolf variants, and the snowy wolf is one of the harder ones to track. It spawns alone in cold mountain terrain, so the search can become a full expedition.

Snowy wolves are tamed like any other wolf, so the only required item is bones. Bring around 16 bones in case taming luck decides to be dramatic.
A practical travel kit includes food, armor, weapons, a bed, a boat, bones, and, if available, an elytra with fireworks. The trip may be short, but planning for a long one is safer.

Snowy wolves spawn only in grove biomes. Groves usually appear on mountain slopes and near other mountain biomes. They resemble snowy taigas, with spruce trees and plenty of snow.
No vanilla map points directly to a grove. Head toward snowy terrain and tall mountains, then scan the slopes from higher peaks for snowy spruce clusters.

A snowy wolf spawns alone, and its spawn rate is low. Finding a grove does not guarantee one will be there, so avoid leaving too quickly if the first pass looks empty.
After reaching a grove, either wait nearby and check every thirty minutes or travel between multiple groves with an elytra. Keep bones ready while searching. Patience matters more than speed here.
When the wolf appears, tame it with bones as usual. If the attempt fails, keep feeding bones until hearts appear or your supply runs out. The hard part is finding it. The easy part is not celebrating by walking off the mountain.
