Minecraft Live 2024: Date, Time, Leaks and Where to Watch

When is Minecraft Live 2024?

Mark the calendar: Minecraft Live 2024 lands on Saturday, September 28th. The announcement came later than usual, which had the community a touch nervous, but the show is back on track.

What time does it start?

The broadcast kicks off at 1 PM EST. Stick around after the main showcase, because Mojang is following it up with a developer after-show that plays the upcoming update live on stream. Free dev commentary while the patch is still warm.

Mob Vote retired in 2024

The annual Mob Vote did not survive the year. Mojang officially retired it, but they hinted that the slot is being filled with something new. Details are still under wraps, and the reveal is expected during the show itself.

Early leaks and current teasers

A slip on Mojang's side pushed a few details out the door earlier than planned. The leak named the next update, confirmed a fresh biome called the pale garden, and introduced a creature known as the creaking. Since then, Mojang has leaned into it, teasing the creaking on X (the platform formerly called Twitter) and on YouTube.

They also showed four new block types: petrified white and black wood, monochrome logs with their stripped variants, and snow white planks. Based on the palette, the best guess is that all of them belong to the pale garden.

One detail worth flagging: an early Mojang tweet warned not to look at the creaking. What that means in practice is still unclear, but the community is betting it behaves something like an enderman.
