According to the leaks, Minecraft Spicewood is the working title of the next spin-off in the franchise. The supposed release sits in Q2 2026, with a follow-up update later that year in Q3. One detail caught fans by surprise: the Spicewood logo includes lettering that looks suspiciously similar to the glyphs used on enchanting tables in vanilla Minecraft, hinting that magic could be a central pillar of the gameplay.

A second wave of leaks surfaced in March 2025 and pushed the rumor mill further. Two additional images circulated online, one showing combat that looks a lot like Minecraft Dungeons, and the other a promotional shot of a Warden-style boss emerging from the portal at the center of an Ancient City. If genuine, that points to Spicewood being a true sequel to Dungeons rather than a fresh experiment.

The Three-Year Roadmap

Spicewood was not the only thing exposed. The original Reddit post that started this conversation included a wider three-year Mojang roadmap. The leaked schedule does not spell out specific feature lists, but it does sketch out cadence:

• Minecraft content drops on a quarterly schedule, four per year.
• Two Minecraft Live broadcasts per year, one in spring and one in winter.
• Two large brand collaborations per year.

The roadmap also confirms a streaming window for A Minecraft Movie, listing Q3 2025 as its arrival on streaming platforms, one quarter after the theatrical release on April 4, 2025. The animated Netflix series, oddly enough, gets no firm dates in the same document.

When Could Spicewood Get an Official Reveal?

If the Q2 2026 launch window holds up, the most logical announcement slot is the first Minecraft Live of 2025, which the leaked roadmap places in Q1. That would give Mojang roughly a year to drip-feed trailers, screenshots and marketing beats before the game ships.
