Minecraft's minigame scene rarely runs out of ideas. Take a bed, a floating island, and combat that predates the 1.9 update, mash them together, and you get one of the most addictive PvP formats the game has ever produced: Bedwars.

The rule is simple. Smash the enemy's bed. Defend yours. The simplicity is a trap, though, because anyone who has played more than a few rounds knows the game is built on tight resource management and faster-than-thinking reflexes.
Players start spread across separate floating islands in the sky. To go on the offensive, you have to bridge through open air to reach rivals, and bridging while someone is firing arrows at your face is, generously put, stressful. Building speed and building defensively are equally valuable skills.
Each island also hosts two villager shops. Resources spawn on your island automatically, and you spend them at the shops on better gear, sturdier blocks, or team-wide upgrades. Spend them poorly and your bed is exposed; spend them too defensively and you never push. The game is essentially a short lesson in economic decision-making with PvP attached.
Combat uses pre-1.9 melee mechanics, meaning no swing cooldowns (combat update reference). Click as fast as your mouse will tolerate. Death sends you back to spawn as long as your bed is intact, but once that bed shatters, the next death is final. Last team standing claims the win.

Every server tweaks the lineup, but the common variants are:
Hypixel also runs an experimental category called Dreams, where the core ruleset gets twisted in different ways depending on which variant is currently rotating. Expect the meta to shift each time the rotation changes.

Two main paths. Spin up your own Minecraft server and install a plugin such as Screaming Bedwars, or join one of the big public networks that already host the game (Hypixel being the obvious starting point, with plenty of smaller communities running their own twists on the formula).
Not sure where to land? HolyHosting also publishes a dedicated write-up covering the top five Bedwars servers, with IPs included. Good luck out there, and watch your bed.
