Valheim Soft Tissue: Where to Farm It and What It Crafts

Once you reach the Mistlands, the late-game crafting tree in Valheim opens up in a serious way, and Soft Tissue sits right at the center of it. It is the bottleneck material for Refined Eitr, which in turn unlocks the Carapace set, magical staves, and a handful of unique buildings. If your progression has stalled because you cannot find enough of it, this guide covers every reliable source and what your stockpile actually unlocks.

Where to Farm Soft Tissue

Soft Tissue is restricted to two biomes, and the Mistlands is by far the friendlier of the two.

• Giant Remains in the Mistlands. Look for the massive skeletal structures scattered across the biome. The Soft Tissue nodes embedded in them need a Black Metal Pickaxe or anything higher to break.
• Dvergr camps. The crates, barrels, and dismantleable structures inside Dvergr outposts have a real chance of dropping Soft Tissue alongside other Mistlands resources. Worth scouting even when you are not specifically farming.
• Dvergr Mages and Rogues. Killing the hostile Dvergr units is a slower but steady source. Bring decent armor, they hit harder than they look.
• Putrid Holes in the Ashlands. Available much later in your run, these can also yield Soft Tissue if you are already poking around the Ashlands. Going there just for this is not recommended.

If you are early in the Mistlands, stick to the Giant Remains and opportunistic Dvergr loot. The Ashlands route is overkill for the same material.

What Soft Tissue Is Used For

The headline use is Refined Eitr, crafted by combining Soft Tissue with Sap at the Eitr Refinery. Refined Eitr is then the gating ingredient for an entire shelf of Mistlands and Ashlands gear, plus a few essential workstations.

Quick Farming Tips

• Mark Giant Remains and Dvergr camps on your map the first time you cross them. You will be back, probably several times.
• Bring a portal kit. Soft Tissue is heavy in bulk and the Mistlands are not a fun place to slow-walk through with a full inventory.
• Pair Soft Tissue runs with Sap collection in the same biome so a single trip feeds the Eitr Refinery twice.

With a steady supply, Refined Eitr stops being the wall between you and the rest of the late-game tech tree.
