Every Forsaken Power in Valheim: Effects, Boss Locations, and Summoning Items

Valheim·September 18, 2025·17 min read

Progression in Valheim is mostly a long argument with your own gear: better armor, sharper weapons, sturdier shields. The shortcut to real power, though, runs through the bosses. Each one you put down hands over a Forsaken power, and stacking those across a playthrough is what turns a clumsy viking into a proper threat. This guide walks through every Forsaken power currently in the game, what it does, and how to bring its owner to the altar.

How Forsaken Powers Actually Work

Forsaken powers are not loot you pick up off the floor. To unlock one, you have to kill the boss that owns it, grab the trophy it drops, and hang that trophy on the Sacrificial Stones. Those stones are not hard to track down. No matter how procedural generation lays out your map, the same cluster of seven monoliths always sits near the center of the world.

Place a boss trophy on the stones and the matching power becomes available. You can only have one Forsaken power equipped at a time, so swapping means walking back to the stones and interacting with a different mounted trophy. Cooldowns are long, so think of these as emergency buttons, not passive buffs.

The sections below cover each boss in roughly the order most players meet them.

Eikthyr

How to summon

  • Place two Deer Trophies on the Forsaken Altar in the Meadows.
  • Deer Trophies drop from the regular deer that wander the Meadows. Bring a bow.

  • Returns 5 stamina per successful block.

How to summon

  • Withered Bones are found inside Muddy Scrap Piles in Sunken Crypts, and occasionally in Swamp chests if luck is on your side.

The Queen

  • Adds 50% resistance to poison.

How to summon

  • Locate the Infested Citadel in the Mistlands. The altar is inside and skips the usual item sacrifice.
  • You will need a Sealbreaker, crafted from Sealbreaker Fragments looted inside the Infested Mines that also dot the Mistlands.

Fader

Forsaken power

  • Doubles Adrenaline generation.
  • Reduces stagger buildup by 50%.
  • Adds 50% resistance to fire.

How to summon

  • Find the charred colosseum out in the Ashlands. Three Bells must be placed around the structure to call Fader.
  • Craft the Bells from Bell Fragments looted inside Charred Fortresses, also located in the Ashlands. The recipe only unlocks at a forge upgraded into a Black Forge, so do not leave home without the upgrade materials sorted.

Keep working through this list and your character will eventually carry the whole bestiary on one belt, ready to swap whichever buff suits the next expedition.
