Holy Team

V Rising starts a new vampire with little more than rags, sharp teeth, and optimism that may not survive the first wolf pack. Armor quickly becomes one of the most important parts of progression, raising gear level, health, and later movement or attack speed.
The best armor set depends on where the character is in the campaign and what materials are available. This ranking follows normal progression, from starter gear to late-game equipment.

Boneguard is the first armor set most players craft during the tutorial. It is impossible to miss and useful only because the alternative is being a very fragile vampire.
Plated Boneguard upgrades the starter set after the Simple Workbench is unlocked. The stat gain is modest, but it gives enough durability and health to handle early enemies more safely.
Nightstalker recipes also become available through the Simple Workbench. This set drops the physical power bonus from Plated Boneguard but improves maximum health, making it a stronger general survival option.
Merciless Nightstalker is the upgraded version of Nightstalker and a strong early-to-mid game set. Wearing two pieces adds physical power, while four pieces increase gear level.
This set is helpful for hunting early V Blood bosses such as the Alpha Wolf and Errol the Stonebreaker. It requires Copper Ore refined into Copper Ingots at a Furnace, so gathering and refining become part of the upgrade path.
Hollowfang is the next major gear level jump after Merciless Nightstalker. To unlock the materials needed for it, defeat Beatrice the Tailor in Dawnbreak Village. Beatrice herself is not dangerous, but the village guards are happy to compensate.
Defeating Beatrice unlocks the Loom, which enables the materials used for Hollowfang pieces.
Merciless Hollowfang improves Hollowfang without requiring a leap as awkward as the earlier Nightstalker upgrade. By this stage, the Tailoring Bench should already be available.
The set adds movement speed and attack speed bonuses when enough pieces are worn, making it a meaningful upgrade for both combat and travel.
Dawnthorn is a late-game armor set unlocked after defeating Octavian the Militia Captain, a level 57 V Blood boss at the Bastion of Dunley. After that, materials become the next obstacle.
Pristine Leather and Silk are required. Mutant Grease can be gathered in Gloomrot, while Silk comes from the Spider Cave. Once the materials are ready, craft the pieces at the Tailoring Bench.
Bloodmoon is one of the best armor sets in V Rising without using spawn item console commands. Unlike many earlier sets, its recipes are not unlocked all at once by defeating a single boss. Each component recipe must be researched at the Athenaeum.
Recipes can also be bought from the City Book Vendor for 20x Goldsun Coin each. Carrying Goldsun Coins causes Silver Sickness, so plan the trip carefully unless slowly melting sounds convenient.
Crafting the full Bloodmoon set at the Tailoring Bench grants excellent health, movement speed, attack speed, and gear level bonuses.
