How to Connect to Your V Rising Server

V Rising·May 20, 2026·10 min read

Overview

V Rising drops you into a dark survival world as a weakened vampire rebuilding power after a very long nap. Building a castle, hunting bosses, crafting gear, and fighting rival clans is already satisfying alone, but the game is much better when friends can join the same world.

If you have a HolyHosting V Rising server, you can connect through the public server list or by using direct connect. Both methods are straightforward once you know where to find the server name and address.

Find Your Server Details

Before opening V Rising, grab the connection details from your server panel:

  • Log in to your HolyHosting control panel.
  • Find the IP Address:Port section.
  • Copy the full address for direct connect.
  • If you want to search for the server in-game, find the Server Name section too.

Write down or copy the server name exactly. A single missing character can send you hunting through the list like a vampire looking for sunscreen.

Join From the Server List

Use this method if your server is listed publicly in V Rising.

  1. Launch V Rising and select Play from the main menu.
  1. Choose Online Play, then select Find Servers in the lower-right corner.
  1. Select Display all Servers & Settings, then enter your server name in the search field.
  1. When the server appears, select it and click Join Game. V Rising will begin connecting you to the server.

Join With Direct Connect

Direct connect is usually the fastest option, especially for new servers that have not appeared in the master list yet.

  1. Start V Rising and select Play.
  2. Choose Online Play.
  3. Select Find Servers.
  4. Click Direct Connect.
  5. Enter the server address in the format shown in your panel, including the port.
  6. Select Connect.

If the server uses a password, V Rising will ask for it while loading. You can find the active password in your control panel near the server address settings.

Common Connection Problems

Timed out when connecting

A timeout usually means the address was entered incorrectly, the server is offline, or the connection between your computer and the server is having trouble. Check that the IP and port match the panel exactly, confirm the server is running, then try again.

If the details are correct and it still fails, restart your router and test your internet connection. It is not glamorous troubleshooting, but it solves more problems than anyone wants to admit.

Server name does not appear

New V Rising servers can take a while to show in the master server list. Use Direct Connect while waiting for the list to refresh.

Also check your server settings and make sure the option to list the server publicly is enabled. If public listing is disabled, the server may still work through direct connect, but it will not be easy to find from the browser.
