The Tricky Trials update is right around the corner, and players who got early access already have a list of favorites. Here are five additions worth highlighting before launch day.

Not the headline feature, but a quietly brilliant one. Drop a boat under any leashed mob and you can pull villagers, animals, or anything else across oceans without the usual chaos of paddling solo. A small quality-of-life change that fixes years of logistical headaches.

Hidden inside Trial Chambers lurks a new mob called the Breeze. It hops around its arena like it has somewhere urgent to be, hurling wind charges that can flip switches and pop open trapdoors. Defeat it and you get breeze rods, which break down into more wind charges. Toss one at your feet and you launch into the air. So long, slime block contraptions.

The second job for breeze rods is forging the mace, Minecraft's newest weapon. With the right enchantments it slices clean through armor, and damage scales the further you fall before connecting. From enough height, a single strike can finish a warden. Miss the swing, however, and gravity collects the bill in full.

Full automation finally lands in vanilla. The Crafter assembles any recipe when given a redstone pulse, and combined with hoppers and droppers it turns crafting into an assembly line. Redstone factories are officially on the menu.

The headline act of the update. These underground complexes are packed with combat puzzles, Trial Spawners that adapt to how many players show up, and vaults that each party member can unlock with a trial key. Want it harder? Drink an ominous bottle and the dungeon flips into hard mode.
Tricky Trials is shaping up to be a memorable update for both casual builders and combat fans. Is there another feature on your wishlist?
Until next time,
