Hytale Mods Made Simple with the Starbase Mods Manager

Modding is half the fun of running a game server, and shuffling files around to get a mod working is the other half (the less fun one). To cut that second part out, HolyHosting added a built-in tool to the Starbase control panel: the Starbase Mods Manager.

The first supported title is Hytale, timed to its early access launch. More games are already on the roadmap, and player feedback decides which one shows up next.

What the Starbase Mods Manager Does

The Mods Manager lives inside the Starbase control panel of any HolyHosting Hytale server, reachable from the "Mods" tab on the left sidebar. Opening it gives you a curated catalog of popular mods plus a separate browser view for deeper searches when you already know what you want.

Installation takes a single click. No FTP sessions, no zip archives, no version mismatches to debug at 2 AM.

Installing a Mod, Step by Step

Once you are logged in to your Hytale server panel on the HolyHosting site, the flow is short:

1. Open the Mods tab from the left sidebar.
2. Click the Browse tab at the top of the Mods Manager.
3. Search or scroll until you find the mod you want.
4. Hit the Install button next to its name.
5. Close the Mods Manager and restart the server.
6. Hop in and play.

That covers the entire process. New server, old server, freshly migrated server, the steps are identical.

Reviewing What You Have Installed

The third tab inside the Mods Manager, labeled Installed, lists every mod currently active on your server. Use it to audit your setup or to remove anything that is misbehaving. One reminder worth repeating: always restart the server after adding or removing a mod, otherwise the change will not register in-game.
