October has rolled around again, which means Minecraft's yearly haunted festival is back. Spookyfest 2022 is officially live, packing a month of themed content for players who like their builds with a side of fog and unsettling noises.
Mojang has loaded the in-game store with seasonal goodies. Expect creature-heavy mob packs, minigames designed to make you flinch, and atmospheric maps set in moonlit forests. Bedrock players also get free character creator items, no purchase required.

Over in Minecraft Dungeons, the Spooky Fall seasonal trials are open for business. Dive into the darker side of the game and you can grab limited-time rewards before they vanish. Window is short, so do not wait until the end of the month if you want everything.
There is also a crossover moment for the main game. A free skin pack lets you suit up as your favorite Dungeons hero in vanilla Minecraft, which is a nice touch if you ever wanted to bring those characters home.
Mojang put together printable mob masks aimed at younger players (or anyone who enjoys crafting offline). The downloads include instructions and feature the usual fan-favorite mobs. A Snapchat filter is also teased for later in the month, possibly with spooky mobs lurking in the background.
If paper masks are not your thing, there is a separate pack of DIY recipes, stencils, and coloring pages to keep the party going at home.
Everything is available from October 4th through November 9th. No tricks attached, just a steady drip of free and paid Halloween content from Mojang. The one sour note: Java Edition players are once again left out of the seasonal celebration. Maybe next year that finally changes.
