The Trails & Tales update dropped ten armor trims into Minecraft, turning every chest piece into a fashion statement. With so many designs scattered across so many structures, picking favorites becomes a small adventure on its own. Below is a ranking of the five trims that hold up best across any armor material, paired with the loot source you need to hit to grab each one.

Hidden inside desert temple loot chests, the Dune trim leans hard into Egyptian temple geometry. Four sharp blocks span the chestplate, the leggings and boots carry intricate linework, and the helmet rounds out the look without breaking the theme. If symmetry and dense detail score points for you, this one earns its slot on the list.

Grabbing the Snout trim means braving the Nether and cracking open bastion remnant chests. The design fits the name: piglin-themed flair, ear flaps on the helmet, and boots shaped like hooves. The chestplate and leggings keep the motif going without feeling repetitive, which is harder to pull off than it sounds when half the assets are pig-shaped.

The Eye trim is the closest Minecraft gets to wearable horror. Pulled from stronghold chests on the road to the End, it places two staring eyes on the helmet, a watching pattern across the chest, and matching accents on the legs, boots, and shoulder pads. The library room of any stronghold is the guaranteed source, so do not leave one unswept.

Ancient cities give up the Ward trim, and it carries every bit of the Deep Dark atmosphere with it. The lines are heavy, the silhouette is alien, and applied to netherite using diamond as the trim material, the contrast is sharp enough to spot from a render distance away. A solid pick when armor needs to look dangerous on sight.

The Tide trim, looted from ocean monument chests, takes the top spot. Its flowing line art pairs cleanly with any armor color, any base material, any other combo. That kind of versatility is rare, and it is what makes Tide the most reliable choice for a fresh netherite set when no other trim feels right.
Five trims left off this list does not mean five bad designs. Coast, Rib, Vex, Spire, and Sentry all have loyal fans, and any cosmetic ranking carries a healthy dose of personal taste. If your favorite landed lower than expected, blame the nature of fashion in a block game.
