Project Zomboid servers include an administrator account that can use server commands, adjust settings, moderate players, and handle the occasional chaos that only Kentucky can provide. To use it, you need to set the admin username and password in your server panel, then join the server with those credentials.

Avoid starting the username with `admin`. For example, `Admin_Server` may fail, while `Server_Admin` should work. If you want the least annoying option, skip the word `admin` in the username entirely.

Once connected, your character should have administrator access. A quick way to confirm it worked is to check for the red Admin text on your nametag.
To make another trusted player an admin, run this command in-game:
`/setaccesslevel [username] admin`
Replace `[username]` with the exact player username, without brackets. For example:
`/setaccesslevel Morgan admin`
Only give this permission to people you trust. Admin access can change the server, spawn items, moderate users, and cause real damage if handed out carelessly.
You are not listed as admin: Check that the username used in-game matches the admin username in your panel settings exactly. If it still does not work, restart the server again so the setting can reload.
Wrong username or password: This usually means the credentials do not match what is saved in the panel. Re-enter both fields carefully, save the settings, restart the server, and try joining again.
