Where to Find Wheat Seeds in Palworld and How to Farm Them

Palworld·January 23, 2024·9 min read

Bread is a luxury in Palworld, and luxury starts with seeds. If you want to roll out loaves at your base, you first need to track down Wheat Seeds and build yourself a Wheat Plantation. The catch is that these seeds do not exactly fall from the sky, especially when you are still poking around Windswept Hills.

This guide walks through every reliable way to stock up.

Wheat Plantation Requirements

Before farming wheat in any serious way, you need the Wheat Plantation structure. Unlocking it means hitting Level 15 and grabbing it from the Tech Tree. Crafting one then costs 3x Wheat Seeds, 35x Wood, and 35x Stone.

The wood and stone are trivial. The seeds are the bottleneck. You need at least three Wheat Seeds in your inventory before the Plantation even exists, which is why so many players hit a wall here. Clear the tutorial first to lock in some Pals and decent gear, then start hunting.

Method 1: Farm Drops from Wild Pals

Several Pals carry Wheat Seeds as a drop. Capture or defeat them, and seeds will land in your inventory. The current list:

  • Flopie
  • Bristla
  • Cinnamoth
  • Robinquill
  • Dinossom

Of those, Dinossom is the easiest target for most early players. Scout for it north of the Tower of the Rayne Syndicate or over at Marsh Island. Spawns are not guaranteed, so expect to wander a bit. Once you spot one, soften it up with attacks and start throwing Pal Spheres until it joins your roster. Captured Pals will keep producing Wheat Seeds at your Ranch, which is the real win here. Defeating them only gives you a one-time drop, but a captive Dinossom keeps the supply flowing.

Method 2: Buy from a Wandering Merchant

If RNG is not your friend, throw money at the problem. A traveling merchant may occasionally swing by your base with Wheat Seeds in stock, although his inventory is randomized, so do not count on him.

A more reliable option is heading to the Small Settlement, located northwest of the Plateau of Beginnings at coordinates 71, -486. There is a fast travel beacon right there, so unlock it on your first visit and save yourself the trek.

Once inside the settlement, look for the merchant in red clothing. He sells Wheat Seeds as part of his rotation, but they are not cheap: each one runs 100 gold. Compared to capturing a Dinossom, this is the quicker but pricier route.

Which Route to Pick

If you are short on time, the Small Settlement merchant is the fastest path to your first three seeds. If you plan on producing wheat long term, capturing a Dinossom and parking it at the Ranch pays off in a hurry. Most players end up doing both: buy a few to bootstrap the Plantation, then let your captured Pals handle the supply chain.
