Reached the Palworld endgame and still want a real fight? Patch v0.2.0.6 finally answers that with the game's first proper raid boss, plus a long shopping list of new items, base upgrades, and balance tweaks worth digging into.

Bellanoir is not a regular Alpha Pal wandering the overworld. To trigger the encounter, you need to collect slabs and place them on the new Summoning Altar. Once the boss spawns, expect a long fight built around base defense and coordinated Pal damage.
A couple of quirks before you light the altar:
- Bellanoir cannot be captured during the encounter. The only way to add it to your team is a Pal egg that may drop after the battle ends.
- An Extreme variant exists for groups who consider the standard fight tame. Its stats are sharply tuned up, and the damage output usually correlates with how fast your team dies.
The patch goes well beyond a single fight. Several progression and quality of life items showed up:
- Training Manual: hands experience points directly to a chosen Pal. Useful for catching up underleveled team members.
- Ancient Technical Manual: grants Ancient Technology Points and drops randomly inside dungeon chests.
- Recovery Meds: regenerate HP slowly over time.
- Homeward Thundercloud: teleports you to your nearest base on use.
- Ability Glasses: equip to view Pal stats directly.
- Stat-boosting Power Fruit, Life Fruit, and Stout Fruit permanently raise a Pal's stats on consumption.
- Ring of Mercy: stops your attacks from dropping enemy HP below 1, which is exactly what you want when chasing rare captures.
- Multiclimate Undershirt: one armor piece that handles both heat and cold zones.
Pals can also gain the new Mercy Hit passive. It mirrors the Ring of Mercy effect but applies to the Pal's own attacks.
If you spend more time running a factory than swinging weapons, this section is for you. Two new structures arrived:
- Electric Egg Incubator: draws power to keep eggs at the optimal temperature on its own.
- Ore Mining Site: produces ores directly inside your base, cutting out long mining trips.
Ranch behavior also expanded. Drop a Kelpsea there to generate Pal Fluids, or assign Dumud to produce High-Quality Pal Oil.
Building rules became friendlier:
- Stairs now connect upward.
- Roof pieces snap directly to foundations.
- Triangular walls attach to stairs.
You can rebuild your character's appearance at any time using the new Antique Dresser.
Pal management gained useful tools as well. The Monitoring Stand lets you whitelist or blacklist tasks per base Pal, and chests now support item filters. Crafted items can be set to auto-transport, with Pals carrying finished goods straight to a chest. Fixed assignments stay fixed even after bad events occur, unless the Pal goes back into the Pal Box.
- Riding Surfent Terra reduces the carry weight of metal ore.
- Riding Astegon increases the amount of ore dropped.
- The Pal Essence Condenser finishes a max-rank synthesis in a single pass, with condensation progress tracked on the individual Pal.
- Negative Pal status effects clear up after time spent in the Pal Box.
If a Pal goes on break and you want it back on the clock, you can now pick it up and throw it at a workstation to force the task back on. SAN recovery happens during breaks, so use that power responsibly.
The patch tightens several interface gaps:
- Aiming a sphere now shows how many of that Pal you have already captured.
- Partner skill cooldowns are visible for every Pal on the main screen.
- Equipment and item stats appear on the technology screen even before unlocking them.
- The tutorial was reworked and renamed Journey, and it can be toggled from the options menu.
- Damage number size is now adjustable in settings. Helpful in raid fights where numbers stack on top of each other.
A long list of small tweaks worth scanning:
- Minimum heat and cold resistance added to several armor pieces, so the starting area's night chill no longer forces a wardrobe change.
- Egg incubator button press time reduced.
- Jormuntide Ignis pattern updated to something more unique.
- Legendary blueprints for select firearms now drop from specific enemies.
- Diamond selling price corrected.
- Single player can no longer select an initial spawn point reserved for multiplayer.
- Rocks block the area behind the starting zone so players stop getting stuck out there.
- Mounted partner skill attack power multiplier reduced from 2.0 to 1.2.
- Eggs now have a small chance to produce Alpha Pals.
- Flying and floating Pals are immune to fall damage.
- Various shop price adjustments.
- Items dropped at death on a dedicated server can be picked up by anyone after 24 real hours have passed.
- A new sleeping emote has been added.
- Treasure chests no longer turn empty after a dungeon death.
- The mounted attack power multiplier no longer duplicates and stacks under certain conditions.
- Capturing Pals while mounted now correctly awards loot.
- Legendary Pal HP has been normalized between captured and bred versions.
- Pals will no longer eat while being ridden.
- Spheres thrown close to wild Pals no longer fail to register and disappear.
Server hosts get a meaningful round of upgrades:
- Server list sorting now works as expected.
- The server list supports page transitions.
- Dedicated servers can output various logs.
- A REST API has been implemented. Full reference at the official tech guide.
- A Steam account spoofing vulnerability has been patched.
- Seven additional critical vulnerabilities were fixed.
- Various Pal models and textures have been refined.
- Several sound effects added or adjusted.
- Many other minor bug fixes.
- One new track joined the soundtrack. Owners need to update to hear it, and the update can take a few days to propagate.
