Palworld v0.1.4.1 Patch Notes Breakdown: Effigy Fix, Save Recovery, and Cheat Countermeasures

Palworld·February 9, 2024·9 min read

Pocketpair has pushed another round of fixes for Palworld with patch v0.1.4.1 (build v1.1.4 on Xbox). Nothing new shipped with this one, no flashy features, no fresh Pals. The update sticks to one job: ironing out problems players kept running into, including a Lifmunk Effigy bonus that turned out to be cosmetic.

The Headline Fix: Lifmunk Effigies Now Actually Work

For weeks, players assumed that turning in Lifmunk Effigies at the Statue of Power was making their capture odds better. The interface even said so. A few suspicious community members ran the numbers and posted their findings on Reddit, confirming the displayed bonus was not connected to the math behind capture rolls.

Patch v0.1.4.1 finally syncs the displayed capture rate with the actual capture probability. If you have been hoarding effigies for that one stubborn Pal, the grind was not wasted after all.

The 7,000 Pal Save Wipeout

Multiplayer guilds that crossed roughly 7,000 captured Pals were running into a hard wall. Their save files corrupted, the game crashed, and the world refused to load. Anyone in a busy server with a serious Pal collection had every reason to feel nervous.

This patch does two important things on that front:

  • New saves and servers no longer trigger the bug.
  • Existing broken save data, including server world files that were stuck unloadable, will recover automatically once the patch is applied.

If your server was bricked over the past week, update and try loading again before assuming the worst.

Other Notable Fixes

Beyond the marquee items, several smaller bugs got squashed in this update:

  • Weapons equipped by other players no longer vanish when someone tosses a grenade in multiplayer.
  • Pals manually assigned to a breeding farm will no longer enter an eternal nap if they fall asleep mid-shift.
  • Pals working a base will now actually drop wood when they chop down a tree, which is welcome news for anyone wondering where their lumber kept going.

Anti-Cheat and Exploit Countermeasures

The patch notes also mention that Pocketpair has added countermeasures against some cheats and exploits. They were intentionally vague about which ones, which is the standard move. The less information cheaters have about what got patched, the longer it takes them to find the next workaround.

For honest Pal Trainers, this is good news. Your base, your farms, and your collection of legendary captures have slightly better odds of staying yours.
