Paladius in Palworld: Spawn Spot, Capture Tactics, Breeding and Skills

Palworld·December 23, 2024·19 min read

Paladius joined the roster when Palworld first stepped into Early Access, and it has been hard to miss since. Picture a towering Neutral-type Pal kitted out with a lance and a shield, fighting like a paladin who took his job description very seriously. If you want a sturdy ally who looks the part of a knight commander, this guide walks you through finding Paladius, knocking it out, capturing it, and even breeding more.

Where Paladius Spawns

Paladius shows up as an Alpha boss in a single, very specific corner of the map: the desert biome in the far northeast. From the Deep Sand Dunes fast travel point, head northwest and you will run into it patrolling its territory.

Do not bother sweeping the rest of the map. Paladius does not roam anywhere else, and it never appears inside dungeons either. One spot, one fight.

Gear Check Before the Fight

Alpha Pals do not hand themselves over politely, and Paladius is no exception. Pack heavy hitters before you ride out. The Rocket Launcher and Assault Rifle are both reliable for chewing through its health bar. For armor, go with the Cold Resistant Pal Metal Armor or Heat Resistant Pal Metal Armor. They hold up well in combat and also keep the desert temperature swings from doing the boss's job for it.

For Pal allies, lean into the type chart. Paladius is Neutral, which means Dark-type Pals carry the advantage. Shadowbeak, Frostallion Noct, and Hoocrates are all strong picks for the encounter.

Hoocrates deserves a special mention. Its Partner Skill, Dark Knowledge, buffs the attack power of every Dark-type Pal in your party. Bring the right team and your damage output stacks up fast.

Catching Paladius

Whittle Paladius down until its HP bar enters the red zone, then start throwing. Standard Pal Spheres, Mega Spheres, and Giga Spheres are basically souvenirs at this point. You need Legendary Pal Spheres to have any realistic shot at a successful capture.

Expect to throw more than one. With enough patience (and a few extra Legendary Spheres in the pocket), Paladius will eventually land in your collection.

Breeding Paladius

Already have one and want a second? The cleanest route is the Breeding Center. Pair two Paladius parents and you are guaranteed another Paladius from the egg.

The alternative is hunting down a Huge Common Egg and running it through an Egg Incubator. There is a chance the egg hatches a Paladius, but it can also produce a Kingpaca instead, so this method is a roll of the dice rather than a sure thing.

Quick visual note: do not confuse the standard Common Egg with the Huge variant. The huge one is roughly the size of your character model, so it is hard to miss once you spot it.
