Breeding endless generations of Pals just to land good passive skills used to be the only path forward in Palworld. The Tides of Terraria patch changed that by adding the Pal Surgery Table, a workstation that lets you implant skills directly. Below you'll find how to unlock and build it, what each Implant does, and which passives are actually worth your Gold.

The Pal Surgery Table (sometimes called the Pal Operating Table) shows up in the Technology Tree once you hit Player Level 36. Unlocking it costs 2 Technology Points, and the crafting recipe asks for 30 Refined Ingot and 20 High Quality Cloth. Not cheap, but cheaper than another fifty breeding attempts.

The station handles two jobs: injecting passive skills into your Pals and swapping their gender. Gender changes require the Pal Reverser, sold at the Pal Arena for 35 Battle Tickets. Useful if your breeding plan keeps producing the wrong sex.
The more interesting use is the passive skill side. You feed the table an Implant, pick the target Pal, and the new skill gets grafted on.

Out of the box, the Surgery Table offers fourteen Implants ready to use:

Six additional Implants are stocked by the Bounty Officer at the Small Settlement (74, -487) and at the Pal Arena (633, 16). The Arena vendor takes Battle Tickets, while the Bounty Officer takes Bounty Tokens. Bounties spawn around the map, and clearing one permanently pins that NPC's location for future visits.
The extras on offer:
Put the Pal you want to modify in your active party, walk up to the Surgery Table, and interact with it. Pick the Implant you want, then press Edit.
If the Pal has fewer than four passive skills, the new one slots into the empty space. If all four are taken, you choose which existing skill to overwrite. Pick carefully, replacements stick around until you implant something else over them.
Operating costs scale with the Implant's tier:

The Implant pool is still pretty narrow, so picking the right targets matters. These are the standouts:
Workaholic and Artisan are obvious picks for base Pals that grind crafting and resource jobs. Ferocious and Burly Body cover combat Pals you actually take outside. Musclehead hits hard but tanks work output, so save it for dedicated fighters. Mercy Hit is the odd one out, mostly useful when you're trying to capture Pals without accidentally one-shotting them.
