Holy Team

Terraria's final cosmic horror crossed over into Palworld, and yes, the Moon Lord still looks miserable to share an island with. Big eyes, bad attitude, a knack for vaporizing entire teams of Pals. The good news is that it follows rules. Learn them, prep properly, and you can drop the eldritch oddball before the ten minute timer runs out.

Bringing this raid boss to your world works similarly to summoning Bellanoir, except the key item is the Celestial Sigil instead of the usual Bellanoir trinket. The schematic drops from the Eye of Cthulhu, the new mini boss tucked inside the Terraria Dungeon at the Sealed Realm of Terraria Island, southeast of Fisherman's Point. Capture or kill it to add the recipe to your crafting log.

With the recipe unlocked, you still need materials. Each Celestial Sigil costs 100x Hallowed Bar, best farmed by hunting and butchering Terraria Pals. Slimes and bats are reliable suppliers if you set up a small grinding spot near a spawn pocket. A Primitive Workbench will craft the sigil, though any higher tier station works fine.

Next, find a clearing far from your main base and drop a new Palbox. The new perimeter is where you will place a Summoning Altar, which costs 100x Stone and 20x Paldium Fragment per build. Both the altar and one Celestial Sigil are consumed every time you call the boss, so stock spares before you commit.

Unlike Bellanoir, who is a Dark type, the Moon Lord is non elemental. That removes the type matchup layer and turns the encounter into a pure prep and patience check. The boss also has a damage window mechanic that you have to play around:
The chest seals either after a fixed window or once you have pumped enough damage into the heart, then the cycle restarts. Rinse, repeat, survive.
You are the main damage dealer here, since only you can aim freely at the weak points. Your Pals exist to soak hits and keep aggro off your back, so pick the chunkiest options available.
For raw defense, the top tier as of the Tides of Terraria update is, from lowest to highest:
For HP, the strongest options are:
A Jetragon remains the fastest flying mount even after Patch 0.6, which makes it the obvious pick for staying mobile during the fight. Skip Jetragon's AoE moves though, since they rarely land cleanly on the weak points. Bring your highest damage gear instead. The Laser Rifle and Multi Guided Missile Launcher both work well, letting you strafe and snipe the eyes while your tank Pals eat the aggro.
You only have 10 minutes before the Moon Lord despawns, so do not burn time chasing the head if its hands are wide open. Keep moving when fireballs lock onto you, reposition until the Pals pull aggro back, then resume the eye routine.

Patience pays here. Rushing usually ends with your Pals on the floor and the boss healing while you respawn.

Survive the encounter and you walk away with a guaranteed stack of Ancient Civilization Cores, Training Crystals, Rubies, and Ancient Civilization Parts. Beyond the guaranteed pile, the random drop pool includes:
The Legendary Meowmere is the trophy piece most players chase, but the pendants and lotuses make repeat runs worthwhile for stat boosts across your Pal roster.
