How to Beat Hartalis in Palworld: Summoning Steps, Phase Counters, and Loot Table

Palworld·December 22, 2025·19 min read

Hartalis, the King of Salvation, arrives with Palworld's Home Sweet Home Update and brings a fight that punishes lazy team composition. He flips elements mid-battle, throws up timed barriers, and has the health pool to soak everything you have left over. This guide covers the prep, the mechanics, and the Pals worth slotting in before you slam down a Summoning Altar.

Summoning Hartalis Step by Step

Before you can pick a fight, you need the altar. Reach Level 32, spend 3 Technology Points to unlock the Summoning Altar recipe, then craft it with 100x Stone and 20x Paldium Fragment. One important detail: the altar consumes itself when the raid begins, so plan on rebuilding before every encounter.

Next, you need four Hartalis Slab Fragments. They drop randomly from chests in caves and dungeons, and they can also roll as expedition rewards through the Pal Expedition Station. To unlock that station, hit Level 15, spend 2 Technology Points, and craft it with 20x Wood, 20x Stone, and 50x Paldium Fragment.

Finding the fragments is the slowest part of the entire process. The most efficient farm spot reported so far is the cluster of chests near the entrance of the Crystalized Tunnel at coordinates -947, -1318. The dungeons inside Feybreak and Sakurajima are solid secondary routes if those chests are already looted.

Once you have all four fragments, place them on the altar and confirm the summon. The fight starts the instant you press the button, so heal, restock, and ready your loadout first.

Hartalis Stats and Fight Mechanics

Hartalis is a Level 65 raid boss with 909,000 HP, and you have to drain that bar twice. Although he is technically a Neutral-type Pal, the raid version opens as a Water/Grass hybrid. After his first health bar empties, he heals to full and shifts to pure Neutral for phase two.

That dual-element design is the whole puzzle. The clean answer for phase one is Electric, since it punishes both Water and Grass. Phase two flips to Dark Pals, which crush anything Neutral. Avoid Fire and Ground Pals entirely. They sit at a disadvantage on offense and defense, and the fight will drag accordingly.

The core combat loop is straightforward dodging and healing, with one twist: Hartalis periodically raises a barrier. The on-screen prompt tells you which element to hit it with. If the timer expires before the shield drops, he detonates an explosion that almost always wipes nearby players and their summoned Pals at once. Match the prompt with your character's weapon element and your Pal's attacks to break it in time.

If the barrier looks unbreakable, just run. Get out of the blast radius, let the explosion happen, then return and resummon Pals. Losing a few seconds is better than losing your entire team.

This is also one of the fights where bringing friends genuinely changes the difficulty. Hosting a Palworld multiplayer server and tackling Hartalis as a group splits aggro and gives you breathing room during shield phases.

Top Pal Picks for the Hartalis Raid

Orserk

Orserk remains one of the strongest Electric Pals in the game and pulls heavy weight in phase one. At Level 50 he learns Lightning Bolt, which is currently among the highest-tuned Electric moves available. Pair that with his attack stat and Hartalis's first health bar melts noticeably faster.

Helzephyr Lux

Helzephyr Lux is the rare Pal that fits both phases. His Dark/Electric dual-typing means you can mount him during phase one, ride his Partner Skill to supercharge your shots with electricity, and then dismount in phase two to let him spam Dark moves like Nightmare Ball against Hartalis's Neutral form.

Prunelia

Prunelia's Grass/Dark typing gives you flexible barrier-breaking coverage throughout the fight. Her toolkit handles offensive pressure and defensive trades well, and she rarely sits idle whether Hartalis is on element shift one or two.

Shadowbeak

Shadowbeak is a Dark-type built specifically for phase two. Once Hartalis transitions to Neutral, Shadowbeak's elemental advantage lets him chunk the health bar and shred shields without slowing down on damage output.

Necromus

Necromus is a legendary Dark-type and arguably the single best closer in this raid. Moves like Dark Laser and his exclusive Twin Spears absolutely punish Hartalis's second phase, and his stats make sure he keeps up the pressure even when the fight drags long.

Hartalis as a Companion Pal

The Huge Common Egg you might pull as loot is worth incubating. It hatches into a friendly Hartalis with a solid stat package and a genuinely useful kit.

  • Paldeck Number: 156
  • Paldeck Entry: The silence is unsettling, yet strangely soothing. No one else remains. All have been delivered. O King of Salvation, carry me too into eternal stillness. -The ancient text cuts off here.
  • Partner Skill: Sacred Barrier. Mountable. While ridden, generates a barrier that blocks all attacks, and allows triple jumping.
  • Work Suitability: Lumbering Lv. 4 and Gathering Lv. 3

That triple jump alone is worth the egg. Patience on the slab farm pays off twice: once when you beat Hartalis, and again when you hatch a tame version of the boss that just tried to flatten your camp.
