Flying mounts in Palworld have their moments, but the constant takeoff and landing routine wears thin. A solid ground mount cuts the ceremony and just gets you where you need to go. The selection below covers the five fastest options, so you can skip the trial and error and pick a winner straight away.

Sprint Speed: 1100
Univolt is a strong early-game pick that roams the Sea Breeze Archipelago, and you'll also see it stocked by several Pal merchants. It pulls double duty as a passable fighter, too.
Its Partner Skill, Swift Deity, fires while you're mounted: your attacks deal extra damage and get coated with electricity. That mix of speed and electric output makes Univolt especially handy when you're hunting water-type Pals.

Sprint Speed: 1150
Rayhound shares a lot of DNA with Univolt. Same element, similar availability, easy to catch early. The main difference is geography. Rayhound lives in the northeastern Dessicated Desert and pulls slightly ahead on the speedometer.
A 50-point base speed advantage is modest on paper, but its Partner Skill, Jumping Force, is where things get interesting. It bumps the base speed and unlocks a double jump while mounted. The jump won't add raw speed, but the maneuverability transforms how you handle uneven terrain.

Sprint Speed: 1300
The first big speed jump in the rankings comes with a tradeoff: tougher spawn locations. Pyrin patrol the outskirts of the massive southwestern volcano region on Palpagos Island. Pyrin Noct lurk deeper into the same area and only appear at night.
Neither version offers a Partner Skill that boosts mount speed directly. Pyrin's Red Hare buffs your attack and adds fire damage. Pyrin Noct's Black Hare does the same with dark damage. Picking between them really boils down to which element you want and which one looks cooler in your stable.

Sprint Speed: 1400
The top two slots are reserved for legendary Pals, which means you're locked out of them until the late-game grind. The payoff is real, though. Paladius spawns near the Deep Sand Dunes warp statue in the Dessicated Desert.
Its Partner Skill, Holy Knight of the Firmament, raises the base mount speed and grants a triple jump. That triple jump is a game-changer for getting up cliffs and across gaps without dismounting. Paired with the sprint stat, the gap between Paladius and an actual aerial mount starts to blur.

Sprint Speed: 1600
The top of the list. Necromus shows up right next to Paladius in the Dessicated Desert, but it edges out its neighbor across the board. Its Partner Skill, Dark Knight of the Abyss, increases base mount speed and grants a double jump.
Trading the triple jump for a double might look like a downgrade compared to Paladius, but at 1600 sprint speed, that extra hop would be a control disaster waiting to happen. The double jump is exactly what your reflexes can handle at this pace.
