Palworld Update 0.5.0: Full Crossplay Goes Live With Photo Mode and Global Palbox

Palworld·March 19, 2025·13 min read

Palworld smashed records when it launched in 2024, and Pocketpair clearly has no plans to slow down. The studio has rolled out steady updates ever since, and the biggest one to date is finally here. Version 0.5.0, better known as the Crossplay Update, is live and it brings several long-requested features along with the usual round of balance tweaks and fixes.

When the Crossplay Update Dropped

Pocketpair first teased a "late March" window in an official announcement, and they hit the timeline. The update went live on March 19, 2025. From that day forward, players on Xbox, PlayStation, and PC can share the same server and tame Pals together regardless of the box under their TV.

What Version 0.5.0 Actually Adds

The official Steam patch notes confirm the headline items. Here is the short list of new features:

  • Cross-platform play between Xbox, PlayStation, and PC.
  • Global Palbox for moving Pal data between separate worlds.
  • Dimensional Pal Storage with ten times the capacity of a standard Palbox, sharable across guild members or lockable as private storage.
  • Cosmetic Armor System via the Antique Dresser, so your stats stay intact while your look changes.
  • Photo Mode opened from the Pal Command Wheel, with UI toggle and free camera movement for clean screenshots.
  • Drafting Table that combines low-rarity blueprints into higher-rarity ones.
  • Dedicated server support for macOS.

Plenty of balance changes and quality-of-life tweaks ride along with these features. The full breakdown sits at the bottom of this page, or you can read it directly on Steam.

Pocketpair has been clear that 0.5.0 is not the finish line. The studio's 2025 roadmap mentions additional Pals, new technologies, the long-rumored Palworld and Terraria crossover, and what the developers call a "true endgame" experience. If the past year is any indicator, fans will keep showing up.

To mark the launch, Palworld is currently 25% off on both Steam and the PlayStation Store. If you have been eyeing the game, this is a solid moment to jump in. No matter which platform you play on, you can spin up your own world for friends with a Palworld dedicated server hosted on HolyHosting.

Palworld 0.5.0 Full Patch Notes

Specification Adjustments

  • Buildings can now be placed even when they overlap with a Pal.
  • Connecting foundations or roofs automatically aligns the new piece with the existing one.
  • Assigning an Ice Pal to the Flea Market slows item decay in storage and sales.
  • Torches now mark the entrances of random dungeons for better visibility.
  • Players can sit on chairs and cushions.
  • Some weapons that previously dealt ultra-high damage to trees no longer drop items when those trees fall.
  • Several new NPCs join the world, and existing NPC dialogue behavior has been improved.

  • Summoned raid bosses can no longer damage other bases.
  • Dumud now has the Water attribute.
  • NPC event rewards have been retuned. All NPC conversation logs have been reset so every player can claim them again.

Bug Fixes

  • Players no longer get launched into orbit while climbing. A small loss for fans of unintentional space travel.
  • Getting stunned by an enemy while riding a flying Pal over water no longer flings the player into the sky.
  • Commanding a summoned Pal to attack no longer targets the Black Marketeer or the Medal Merchant.
  • Bounty Tokens with identical passive effects now stack correctly.
  • Dismounting Azurmane no longer launches players upward.
  • On dedicated servers, Pals can no longer get stuck on top of feed boxes.
  • Raiding NPCs can no longer hit players through walls when their pathing fails.
