Coralum Ore sits firmly in the "necessary but annoying" tier of Palworld materials. The grind is real, but the payoff includes some of the best gear in the game, including legendary Overheat Rifles and Charge Rifles. This guide covers where the ore drops, who drops it, and exactly what you can build with it.

Since the Tides of Terraria update, Whalaska is your one reliable source. Head northwest of the desert biome to the Isle of the Glacial Core, the chunk of ice this Ice/Water Pal calls home. Defeat or capture it and the Coralum Ore drops are yours.

The island typically spawns two or three Whalaskas at any given time, so circling the perimeter on repeat is the most efficient farming loop. Bring a fast mount and warm gear.

A second option exists: salvaging from underwater salvage points. It works, but the yield per minute is poor compared with hunting Whalaska. Keep it as a backup if the island is empty between respawns.

Raw Coralum Ore is almost useless on its own. The real currency for endgame crafting is Coralum Ingot, which you smelt at the Gigantic Furnace. The recipe unlocks at Level 61 and costs:
That yields a single Coralum Ingot, so plan your hunts accordingly. If you want a legendary rifle, you are looking at hundreds of them.
Most late-game weapons, armor pieces, and stations pull from Coralum Ingot. Sorted by category:
Each round costs the same modest amount, which is convenient given how much you will burn through:
Two fishing rods skip the smelting step and consume raw Coralum Ore directly:
If fishing gear is your only goal, you can skip the Furnace entirely and dodge the Level 61 unlock requirement.
