Palworld Black Marketeer Locations, Pal Stock, and Capture Tips

The Black Marketeer is one of Palworld's shadier NPCs. He is not exactly an enemy, but he is not running a wholesome village shop either. Players who do not mind dealing with suspicious inventory can buy and sell Pals through him, including many creatures that may be awkward to find in the wild.

Where to Find the Black Marketeer

Black Marketeers tend to stay tucked away in places that match the job description. Some are hidden inside questionable caves, while others stand in concealed ravine areas where casual explorers may walk right past them.

One of the most convenient early locations is in Windswept Hills, which is often near where players build their first base. Look beneath the Desolate Church ruins and head past the abandoned mine to find the NPC's hiding spot.

Use the map to plan a route, then pay close attention once you reach the area. This merchant prefers corners, caves, and out-of-the-way terrain, because apparently selling contraband from a sunny town square would be too direct.

The Black Marketeer does not sell Alpha Pals or Lucky Pals.

You can also sell Pals to him for gold. That can be useful when clearing out Pals with bad traits from your base, though the moral paperwork is not included.

How to Catch the Black Marketeer

If visiting his hideout every time gets old, you can capture the Black Marketeer and bring him to your base. The process works like catching a wild Pal: weaken him, throw a Pal Sphere, and hope he stays inside.

That sounds simple until he starts fighting back. Any hostile action causes the Black Marketeer to pull out a minigun, and he is usually around Level 40 to 45. Do not treat him like a harmless shopkeeper once the fight begins.

A safer method is to use a Hanging Trap, which unlocks in the Technology Tree at Level 4. Craft it with 10x Wood and 5x Stone, then place it above the Black Marketeer. While he is trapped, reduce his health and try capturing him with a high-tier Pal Sphere.

If capturing him sounds like more trouble than it is worth, another option is to build a base near one of his locations. That keeps access convenient without turning the merchant into your unwilling roommate.
