Palworld Base Building Guide: Best Locations, Work Pals, and Design Ideas

Palworld·October 17, 2024·15 min read

A good Palworld base is more than a pretty box full of beds and questionable workplace safety. The best locations give you easy access to resources, enough room to build, and the right Work Pals to keep production moving. This guide covers updated base spots, strong worker choices, and a few community build ideas for inspiration.

Best Base Locations in Palworld

The Sakurajima Update added more content and made several base choices more attractive. These locations are useful for different stages of progression and different resource goals.

Plateau of Beginnings: 264, -548

This spot sits along the southern coast of the Plateau of Beginnings. It is a strong early base choice because it gives quick access to mining nodes, especially Paldium Fragments. That helps keep Pal Sphere crafting steady during the opening hours. There is also a nearby dungeon for extra material farming.

Small Settlement: 8, -528

If you need Ore and Wood early, consider building slightly southwest of the Small Settlement fast travel point. The area is easy to reach and gives you practical resources without forcing a long commute. Your Pals will appreciate that, assuming they have opinions on commute length.

Cinnamoth Forest: -77, -310

The southern part of Cinnamoth Forest is better suited for mid-game. It has plenty of Ore nodes, and nearby Sulfur makes it useful for Gunpowder production once firearms become part of your regular crafting needs.

Sealed Realm of the Guardian: 180, -39

When Ore stops being the only bottleneck, Coal becomes important for advancing through the Technology Tree. The area near Sealed Realm of the Guardian is a strong place to build if you want a base focused on Coal farming.

Sakurajima Island: -646, 270

Sakurajima Island introduced a valuable location for farming Crude Oil. Stockpiling this resource matters because it is used for items such as Flamethrower Fuel, Missile Ammo, and Frag Grenade Mk2.

Base Design Ideas

Efficient bases are useful, but Palworld also gives players enough building freedom to make something memorable. These community examples show different ways to approach design, from fortress layouts to themed builds and reused ruins.

Castle-Style Base

Reddit user Zathura2 built a castle-like base with arched walls and angled rooflines. The large structure also works defensively, creating a fortress-style home for both the player and the work Pals inside.

Fort Husky

Reddit user PbPunk007 created Fort Husky, a giant Pal-inspired base meant to look intimidating. It is not the most practical layout, but it is distinctive and shows how creative base themes can go beyond pure resource efficiency.

Fort Husky is a useful reminder that functional bases can still have personality. As Palworld continues development, more building tools may make creative projects like this easier to refine.

From Ruins to Riches

Reddit user stonkes_go_up used existing in-game ruins as the foundation for a busy town-style base. Instead of starting from empty ground, the build turns a ruin into a hub for farming, breeding, housing work Pals, and supporting NPCs.
