Skyblock is one of Minecraft's most recognizable survival challenges: start on a tiny island, use limited resources, and try not to turn one bad click into a very short story. This setup also supports Acid Island, an optional twist where players survive above an ocean of acid and deal with hazards like acid rain.
Both modes can be configured to match the style of server you want, from casual co-op islands to a more competitive community setup.
On a HolyHosting Minecraft server, choose the Skyblock game type from your server panel, apply the change, and restart the server. After the restart finishes, the server should be ready for players to join and begin creating islands.

When players first connect, they spawn in the lobby. The lobby can usually be reached again later with `/spawn`. From there, players can choose between Skyblock and Acid Island.
Each mode has its own spawn area with basic information, shop access, and room for extras such as treasure crates or vote crates if you decide to add them. Skyblock and Acid Island also use separate inventories, which keeps the two modes from stepping on each other's toes.
To create an island, use `/is` for Skyblock or `/ai` for Acid Island.
For server staff, the main admin command for Skyblock is `/bsbadmin`. For Acid Island, use `/acid`.
The setup includes common starter ranks: Member, Mod, Elite, Admin, and Owner.
Member is the default player rank and has the permissions needed to join and play. Mod is intended for basic moderation tasks such as kick, mute, and ban. Admin has the permissions needed to manage the server, while Owner has full access to every permission.
Skyblock remains popular because it is simple to understand but easy to keep expanding. Adding Acid Island gives players another way to test their survival skills, especially if ordinary void-related panic was somehow not enough.
