Copper Bulbs arrived as a new light source first shown during Minecraft Live and added as of Snapshot 23W43A. They are useful, compact, and slightly more involved than placing a torch and calling it interior design.

To craft Copper Bulbs, gather three Blocks of Copper, one Blaze Rod, and one Redstone Dust.
Blocks of Copper are made from Copper Ingots. Smelt Copper Ore in a Furnace or Blast Furnace, then place nine Copper Ingots across all slots of a crafting table to make one Block of Copper. Repeat until you have three blocks.
For the Blaze Rod, travel to a Nether Fortress and defeat Blazes. Each Blaze has a 50% chance to drop a Blaze Rod. Redstone Dust can be found in loot chests or mined in the Overworld.

Four Copper Bulbs are crafted on a Crafting Table. Arrange the items in this pattern:
After the recipe is placed correctly, collect the Copper Bulbs from the result slot.

A placed Copper Bulb does not turn on by itself. It needs a temporary redstone power source, such as a Redstone Torch or Redstone Block. Once the bulb lights up, the power source can be removed, and the bulb stays on.
Copper Bulbs also oxidize when exposed over time, turning green like other copper blocks. Oxidized Copper Bulbs emit less light. If you want the full brightness to remain, craft a Waxed Copper Bulb by placing one Copper Bulb with one Honeycomb on a crafting table. Waxing prevents oxidation even outdoors.
Copper Bulbs can also generate inside Trial Chambers for players who would rather loot them than craft them. That path comes with hostile encounters, so bring gear before shopping in the underground copper department.
