Minecraft combat usually means swords, bows, shields, and the occasional suspicious bucket of lava. MCHeli takes that in a very different direction by adding modern military vehicles and equipment to Forge 1.7.10. Players can build and use helicopters, planes, tanks, ships, turrets, launchers, smoke grenades, and other tools for large battles or vehicle-heavy survival worlds.
The mod is especially useful for servers focused on factions, military roleplay, base raids, or custom warfare scenarios. Because MCHeli is distributed a little differently from many mods, installation can confuse new players. The important detail is that the downloaded ZIP contains the actual `mcheli` folder, and that folder is what Minecraft needs to load.
Before downloading the mod, install a ZIP utility such as 7-Zip or WinRAR. MCHeli is not handled like a normal single JAR file, so both client and server setup require extracting files.

Every player who joins the server must have Forge 1.7.10 and MCHeli installed locally. If the client and server do not match, Minecraft will usually reject the connection with a mod mismatch error.

Do not leave the original downloaded ZIP in your local `mods` folder. The extracted `mcheli` folder is the part Minecraft should load.
The server also needs Forge 1.7.10. MCHeli will not work on a vanilla server, modern Forge versions, or unrelated mod loaders. If your server panel lets you choose a game version or server type, select Forge 1.7.10 before uploading the mod.

The `META-INF` folder from the archive is not needed for this setup. The server should only need the extracted `mcheli` folder inside `mods`.

Once MCHeli is installed, the server gains a large collection of aircraft, armored vehicles, ships, weapons, and support equipment. These can be used for defense, transportation, base assaults, events, or chaotic testing worlds where the test usually ends with a crater.
Most vehicles need fuel, and many weapons require ammunition. Recipes are included with the mod files, usually as images inside the main `mcheli` folder. For easier recipe lookup in-game, consider using a recipe-viewing mod such as NotEnoughItems for the same Minecraft version.

The Drafting Table is one of the first items players should make. It is used to craft many MCHeli vehicles and equipment pieces, including helicopters, tanks, planes, and ships.
To craft it, gather:
Players with operator permissions can also test items from creative mode, but survival players will usually start with the Drafting Table.
MCHeli includes many helicopters, most of them military-focused. Some are large attack helicopters with rockets, while others are smaller remote-controlled vehicles operated through UAV systems.

Helicopters require fuel, and armed models also need the correct ammunition. Flying them can feel awkward at first because the controls are different from normal Minecraft movement. Give players time to practice before expecting perfect landings, unless the goal is to decorate the landscape with wreckage.

Planes vary from small aircraft to heavy bombers and cargo-style machines. Larger planes turn slowly and need more space, while smaller ones are easier to maneuver but may be less durable or less heavily armed.
Some aircraft can also be controlled remotely through a UAV Station. Many planes can fire rockets or use lock-on features, depending on the model. Because they move quickly, it is worth testing them in an open area before using them near a base.
MCHeli adds jeeps, armored trucks, tanks, and other land vehicles. The best choice depends on whether the player needs speed, armor, or heavy firepower.

Tanks are popular because they can deal serious damage, but their shots often have reload delays. Some vehicles use explosive rounds, while others include mounted guns. Terrain matters a lot here. Flat areas such as deserts, plains, or custom roads are much easier to drive across than forests and mountains.

Ships give ocean bases and coastal areas more strategic value. Battleships can defend nearby water, while cargo-style ships help players travel between land and sea.
These vehicles can be fast and useful, but they burn fuel quickly and may be difficult to dock. Some ships cannot reverse, so players should plan routes before charging into a narrow harbor.

MCHeli is not only about vehicles. The mod also includes turrets, artillery, bazookas, smoke grenades, and other combat equipment. These items are useful for defending bases, fighting vehicles, or escaping under cover.
Turrets and artillery work well around important locations, especially when a server allows air raids or armored attacks. Smoke grenades are better for short-range fights where breaking line of sight matters.
Server owners can adjust MCHeli behavior through its configuration file. Settings may control vehicle behavior, block damage, and other gameplay options. The exact options can vary by mod version, so read each setting carefully before changing it.

Make one or two changes at a time when testing configuration edits. That makes it easier to identify which setting caused a problem if the server fails to start.
If players cannot join, first confirm that everyone is using Minecraft Forge 1.7.10 with the same MCHeli files. A mismatched mod list, missing client install, incorrect Minecraft version, or wrong server address can all prevent a connection.
If the server starts but MCHeli does not load, check that Forge 1.7.10 is selected for the server and that the extracted `mcheli` folder is inside the server `mods` directory. Remove the original ZIP from the `mods` folder after extraction.
If the client crashes on launch, inspect the local `mods` folder. It should contain the extracted `mcheli` folder, not only the downloaded ZIP. Also confirm that the launcher is starting the Forge 1.7.10 profile and has enough memory allocated for modded Minecraft.
For persistent crashes, test with a fresh server profile or temporary world. This helps separate world corruption, conflicting files, and installation mistakes.
