Quark is a Forge mod focused on features that feel like they could belong in vanilla Minecraft. Instead of turning the game into a different experience, it adds smaller improvements across building, automation, mobs, inventory behavior, decoration, and world interaction. The result is a modded server that still feels familiar, just with more buttons to press and fewer reasons to complain at redstone.
The project is owned by Vazkii on CurseForge and maintained by Hubry. It supports many Minecraft versions, from older 1.9-era releases up through modern builds depending on the available file, and it has reached tens of millions of downloads. Most additions are organized into toggleable modules, so server owners can enable the parts they want and disable anything that does not fit their world.

Make sure the Quark, AutoRegLib, Minecraft, and Forge versions all line up. Version mismatch errors are not dramatic, but they are very good at wasting an afternoon.

Every player joining the server also needs the same client-side mod files.

Quark includes many additions, and the exact list depends on the Minecraft version you install. For the complete feature list, check the official Quark website. The examples below cover some of the common categories players notice quickly.

The chute drops inserted items straight down into the center of the block below it. It can also be stopped with a redstone signal or by placing a block underneath.

Dispensers can place many full blocks in front of them. Directional blocks, such as stairs, are placed based on the direction the dispenser faces.

Quark can allow pistons to move blocks with stored data, such as chests and dispensers. This opens up more redstone possibilities and gives builders new ways to hide storage or create moving mechanisms.

Glass item frames let the displayed item stand out without the normal frame being visible. They are useful for weapon walls, map rooms, and cleaner item displays.

Hedges add extra decorative blocks in multiple wood and leaf styles. They are simple, but they make gardens and paths look far less flat.

Iron gates help contain animals while still allowing players and other entities to pass through normally. They are handy for farms where regular gates become a daily nuisance.

Stools are small colored seats that players can right-click to sit on. They work well in houses, taverns, meeting rooms, and any build that needs furniture without a giant staircase chair.
Crabs spawn around beaches and can drop crab legs or shells. They also have a small interaction with music, because apparently beaches needed more personality.

Toretoises are neutral underground mobs. When attacked with a pickaxe, they can drop ore, and feeding one can grow additional ores on its back.
Shibas spawn in mountain biomes and can be tamed. Once friendly, they can play fetch with tridents and arrows, and they may sleep on beds.

To configure Quark, pause the game and look for the small q button next to the options menu. Selecting it opens the Quark configuration screen.

From there, you can disable entire module categories or open a category and adjust specific features. You can also change general settings related to world generation, advancements, and other mod behavior. After making changes, select Save Changes so the configuration is applied.
Players cannot join the server: Confirm that every player has the same versions of Quark and AutoRegLib installed locally. They also need to launch Minecraft with the correct Forge profile. A vanilla profile will not be able to join a Forge modded server.
Minecraft or the server fails to start: This usually means AutoRegLib is missing, the wrong file version was installed, or Forge does not match the mod requirements. Recheck the Quark download page for the correct Minecraft and Forge version, then replace any mismatched `.jar` files before starting again.
