What MrCrayfish's Furniture Mod Adds

Vanilla Minecraft can make home decorating feel like a strange art project involving stairs, trapdoors, and optimism. MrCrayfish's Furniture Mod, often shortened to CFM, adds real furniture blocks for bedrooms, kitchens, bathrooms, outdoor areas, and more. Many pieces are functional, so it is useful for survival bases as well as creative builds.

CFM has been downloaded millions of times on CurseForge and includes more than 80 furniture items. Older stable builds support many Minecraft versions up to 1.12.2, while newer versions have had separate development builds. Always match the mod file, Forge version, server version, and Minecraft client version before launching.

Downloading CFM

  • Open the MrCrayfish's Furniture Mod page on CurseForge.
  • Select Files near the top of the page.
  • Find the file for the Minecraft version you want to use.
  • Click the download button next to that file.

Save the downloaded `.jar` somewhere easy to find. It will be needed for both the client and server setup.

Installing the Mod on Your Client

  • Download the Forge installer that matches the Minecraft version required by the mod.
  • Run the downloaded Forge `.jar` file.
  • Choose Install Client, confirm the Minecraft folder path, then click OK.
  • Open the Minecraft Launcher and go to Installations.
  • Find the new Forge profile and click the folder icon on the right.
  • Open the `mods` folder, or create one if it does not exist.
  • Copy the MrCrayfish's Furniture Mod `.jar` into that folder.

Launch Minecraft with the Forge profile. If the versions match, the mod should load locally.

Installing the Mod on a Server

  • Open your HolyHosting server panel and stop the server.
  • Set the server JAR or version to the matching Forge version for the mod.
  • Generate a new world if prompted, especially when changing major Minecraft versions.
  • Open the server file manager or FTP access.
  • Go into the `mods` folder, creating it if needed.
  • Upload the same MrCrayfish's Furniture Mod `.jar` file.

After the upload reaches 100%, return to the main server page and start the server. Every player joining must also have Forge and the same mod file installed on their own computer.

Using the Furniture Items

Once CFM is installed, open the creative inventory to browse the new blocks. The mod organizes many items by room type, making it easier to decorate without hunting through every tab.

Bedroom furniture includes pieces such as beds, desks, cabinets, and other items for building a less suspicious-looking sleeping area.

Kitchen options include fridges, ovens, sinks, counters, and related blocks for turning a plain base into an actual home.

Bathroom blocks add more detail for modern houses and roleplay builds.

Outdoor furniture helps finish gardens, patios, and entrances so the first impression is not just a door in a wall.

Common Problems

The server will not start after adding the mod. Check that the server is running the correct Forge version for the mod. Remove any mods made for different Minecraft versions, since mixed versions are a common crash cause.

An existing world does not work. Confirm that the world, Forge build, and mod file all target the same Minecraft version. Worlds are not always forward-compatible or backward-compatible, so a world from one version may fail when loaded with another.

Furniture items do not appear on the server. Make sure the `.jar` file was uploaded directly into the server's `mods` folder, then restart the server. Uploading it to the wrong folder will not load the mod.

Players get an error when joining. This usually means the server has the mod but the player does not, or the versions do not match. Install Forge and the same CFM file on every client that needs to join.
