How to Install and Use Macaw's Furniture in Minecraft

What Macaw's Furniture Adds

Minecraft gives players plenty of blocks for building, but decorating a house can feel limited once every chair is secretly a stair block. Macaw's Furniture solves that by adding wooden furniture pieces for bedrooms, kitchens, offices, storage rooms, dining areas, and living spaces.

The mod is made by sketch_macaw, with PeachyMacaw credited for the art. It is part of the wider Macaw's mod collection and supports multiple Minecraft versions, including older Forge builds and newer releases depending on the file you choose. The main idea is simple: pick furniture that matches your wood type, combine pieces, and make interiors look intentional instead of improvised.

Download Macaw's Furniture

  1. Open the Macaw's Furniture page on CurseForge.
  2. Select Files to view the available downloads.
  1. Find the file that matches your Minecraft and Forge version.
  2. Press the download button on the right side.
  1. Save the `.jar` file somewhere easy to find. You will need it for both the server and your own game client.

Install on a Minecraft Server

  1. Open the HolyHosting server panel and log in.
  2. Stop the server before changing mod files.
  3. Check the server's Minecraft version in the game file or version area.
  1. Make sure the server is running the matching Forge version.
  2. Open file access or FTP from the server panel.
  3. Go into the `mods` folder.
  4. Upload the Macaw's Furniture `.jar` file and wait for the transfer to finish.
  1. Return to the main server page and start the server again.

Install on Your Minecraft Client

Every player who wants to join the modded server must also install the same mod locally.

  1. Install the matching Forge version on your computer.
  2. Open the Minecraft Launcher.
  3. Go to Installations.
  4. Hover over your Forge profile and click the folder icon.
  1. Create a `mods` folder if one does not already exist.
  2. Place the Macaw's Furniture `.jar` file inside that folder.
  1. Start Minecraft using the Forge profile.

Furniture Types to Try

Macaw's Furniture includes decorative and functional blocks across standard wood types, stripped wood, and Nether plank styles. That makes it much easier to match furniture to the rest of your build instead of pretending oak belongs everywhere.

Wardrobes come in several styles and work as storage blocks. They can be stacked vertically to create taller wardrobes, which is useful for bedrooms, closets, or library-style builds.

Bookshelves can stand alone or appear as part of a half-wardrobe design. Stacking them creates larger shelving units, and they can also help power an enchanting table like vanilla bookshelves.

Drawers are available in multiple layouts, including versions with several drawer sections and some bookshelf space. Each drawer block has storage, and placing them side by side can create longer cabinets.

Desks come in three broad styles: open desks, covered-side desks, and modern desks. They are mostly decorative, but they are excellent for offices, studies, reception areas, and workrooms.

Tables are made for living rooms, dining rooms, side rooms, and outdoor builds. Options include smaller end tables, glass tables, and other variants that fit different layouts.

Chairs and stools complete the setup. Use them with desks, dining tables, kitchens, porches, patios, or anywhere a player needs to sit dramatically while holding bread.

Counters make kitchens feel much more complete. You can combine drawers, cupboards, and countertop blocks to create compact kitchens, large prep areas, or decorative storage walls.

Common Problems

The server rejects me or shows a mod error. This usually means the server has mods installed that your client does not have. Confirm that your Minecraft version, Forge version, and Macaw's Furniture file all match the server. Also make sure you launched the Forge profile, not a vanilla installation.

The mod works in singleplayer, but not on the server. If Macaw's Furniture loads locally but the items fail on the server, the server probably did not load the mod correctly. Check that the `.jar` file is inside the server's `mods` folder, confirm the Forge version, then restart the server.
