Installing Industrial Foregoing and Starting Automation in Minecraft

Minecraft·May 20, 2026·24 min read

Overview

Vanilla Minecraft has plenty of useful work to do, but a lot of it starts feeling repetitive after the early game. Farming crops, collecting mob drops, and gathering basic resources are important, yet nobody gets excited about manually restocking food while wearing full netherite. Industrial Foregoing helps solve that by adding machines for automation, resource processing, mob farming, tools, upgrades, and more.

The mod was created by Buuz135, authored by hrznstudio, and includes artwork from theCyanideX. It supports many Minecraft versions from 1.11 through 1.18 and has millions of downloads. To use it properly, both the server and every connecting player need the same mod version, the correct Forge version, and the required Titanium dependency.

Download Industrial Foregoing

  • Open the Industrial Foregoing download page.
  • Select Files near the top of the page to view available versions.
  • Find the file that matches the Minecraft and Forge version you plan to run.
  • Use the download button on the right side of that file.
  • Save the `.jar` somewhere easy to find.
  • Download the matching Titanium dependency as well. Industrial Foregoing will not load without it, which is a small but very effective way to ruin a launch attempt.

Install the Mod on Your Server

  • Open the HolyHosting control panel and stop the server.
  • Find the game file or server type selector.
  • Confirm the server is using the matching Minecraft Forge version.
  • Open the server file manager or FTP access area.
  • Find the `mods` folder, or create one if it does not exist.
  • Upload both the Industrial Foregoing `.jar` and the Titanium `.jar` into `mods`.
  • Wait until the upload reaches 100%, then return to the main server page and restart the server.

Install the Mod on Your Minecraft Client

Before joining the server, install Forge on your own Minecraft launcher profile for the same game version.

  • Open the Minecraft Launcher and go to Installations.
  • Hover over the Forge profile, then select the folder icon.
  • Open or create the `mods` folder.
  • Place both Industrial Foregoing and Titanium into that folder.
  • Return to the launcher and start the Forge profile.

After Minecraft loads, open the Mods menu and confirm Industrial Foregoing appears in the list.

Getting Started With Industrial Foregoing

Industrial Foregoing’s early progression begins with plastic. Plastic is needed for the Dissolution Chamber, which unlocks more machine frames, upgrades, tools, and other important recipes.

Craft a Pity Machine Frame

The Pity Machine Frame is used in several starter recipes, including the first machines needed for plastic production.

Craft it with:

  • 1 Redstone Block
  • 4 Iron Ingots
  • 4 Logs of any type

Make Fluid Extractors

Fluid Extractors pull latex from a connected log. One extractor works, but placing four around a single log speeds things up nicely.

Right-click an extractor to check its progress and stored latex. A full 1000mb tank gives enough latex for the next stage. Power is not mandatory, but adding an energy source from another tech mod, such as Mekanism, makes the process faster.

Process Latex Into Tiny Dry Rubber

Next, craft a Latex Processing Unit. This machine combines latex, water, and power to create Tiny Dry Rubber. Buckets can fill the tanks manually, but automation is much less tedious once the setup is running.

Turn Rubber Into Plastic

Once you have enough Tiny Dry Rubber, combine 9 pieces in a crafting table to make Dry Rubber. Smelt the Dry Rubber in a furnace to receive Plastic.

Optional Plastic Automation

If Mekanism or another pipe-based tech mod is installed, this is a good point to automate water and latex input.

Start by crafting a Water Condensator with:

  • 2 Plastic
  • 2 Pistons
  • 1 Water Bucket
  • 1 Redstone Dust
  • 2 Iron Gears

To make an iron gear, place 4 iron ingots in a crafting table in the top, bottom, left, and right slots around the center.

Place the Water Condensator beside water source blocks. It will collect water without power, though energy improves the rate.

Use fluid pipes to connect the Fluid Extractors and Water Condensator to the Latex Processing Unit. With everything connected, Tiny Dry Rubber can be produced with little manual input.

Craft the Dissolution Chamber

The Dissolution Chamber is one of the most important early Industrial Foregoing blocks. It is used for advanced crafting, including new frames, machine addons, tools, and other progression items.

Craft it with:

  • 2 Plastic
  • 1 Chest
  • 1 Pity Machine Frame
  • 2 Buckets
  • 2 Gold Ingots
  • 1 Diamond Gear

Common Problems

The server rejects the connection: This usually means the client and server do not match. Check that the same Forge version, Industrial Foregoing version, and Titanium version are installed on both sides. Restart the server and the Minecraft client after making changes.

Minecraft crashes or errors during startup: Industrial Foregoing requires Titanium. If either the server or client is missing the dependency, or if the dependency version does not match the mod version, startup can fail. Install the correct Titanium file, restart everything, and try again.
