How to Use the Server Split Feature ➗

Minecraft·March 22, 2026·17 min read

Server splitting allows you to partition the resources of your main server into several sub-servers. It's like being able to clone your server and use it for multiple purposes! This is great if you want to host different services or games without having to configure everything from scratch each time.

(This feature is only available on semi-dedicated plans)

  • Locate the server split tab
  • Go to the sidebar in your HolyHosting panel and click on the "Splits" tab.

⚠️Before creating the subdivision, we must consider the available resources.⚠️

Once we identify how many available resources we have, it's time to create the server subdivision, to do so:

  • Click on "+"
As we can see, below the button it shows us how many splits we have created and how many we can make.

  • Name: Choose a name for the subdivision.
  • Description: Add a description to the subdivision.
  • CPU Limit: Select how much CPU limit you want.
  • Memory Limit: Assign the memory limit.
  • Disk Limit: Assign the disk limit you want for the subdivision.
  • Swap Limit: is a space on the hard drive that is used as an extension of RAM when it fills up. Essentially, it acts as virtual memory to prevent the system from running out of resources when RAM is exhausted.
  • Databases: Number of databases you want.
  • Splits: Number of subdivisions you want, if it shows (0 max) it means you won't be able to create subdivisions.
  • Allocations: Number of allocations.
  • Backups: Number of backups you can make in the subdivision.
  • Software Type: Select the type of software you will use in the subdivision E.g.: (Bedrock Edition, Java, Forge.
  • Sync sub-users: You can choose whether to sync the sub-users of the main server with the subdivision.
  • Create the subdivision: Once we have configured our subdivision, we create it.
