How to Reduce Minecraft Server RAM Using Java J9

1. Access your Minecraft server control panel and completely shut down your server.
2. In the left-hand menu, look for the "Startup (Java)" section.
3. Once inside, on the right-hand side, you can change the Java version your server will use. Simply select the desired version — in this case, "Java17 J9".
4. Return to the console and start your server to apply the changes. Your server should now be running on Java J9.
NOTE: Java J9 is not compatible with Forge servers or any server software based on Forge. Additionally, some plugins may not work properly with this Java version. If you encounter errors in the console when starting the server, simply follow the steps again and revert to the version you were using before the change.
