Hi, in this guide we will show you some effective methods to protect your server and prevent intruders. There are various bots designed to infiltrate unprotected servers and cause havoc, such as griefing. Keep reading to learn how to keep your server safe!
Download the Openlogin plugin The first option we have to prevent bots that enter the server from interacting in it, would be through the plugin Openlogin or similar ones. Simply download the jar file: https://www.spigotmc.org/resources/openlogin-1-7x-1-21x.57272/

Once we download the plugin, we will: - Enter our server panel. - Go to the files section. - Enter the plugins folder and upload the .jar file we downloaded earlier.

Start the server and you're done! Now users will be asked to register with a password to play on the server, something bots won't be able to do.

Enable the Whitelist Another option you have to prevent intruders is to enable the whitelist. This is very easy, you just need to: - Enter your server panel. - Go to the "Files" section. - Open the "server.properties" file. - Find the line white-list and change its value to "true". - Save the changes.

Now, we will add users to our whitelist with the following command: Add your friends with the command whitelist add [player_name].

To remove a user from the whitelist, simply type whitelist remove [player name].

This option will allow only people you have authorized to join the server. Conclusion π We hope this guide has been helpful and remember, don't hesitate to ask on HolyHosting DiscordΒ or contact our support team.
