How to Get Fibre Optic Cable in Abiotic Factor

Fibre Optic Cable is a valuable Abiotic Factor material used for higher-tier equipment. Getting it is not difficult once the route is known, but it does require turning cooked Solder into a trade item for the Blacksmith.

Fibre Optic Cable Location and Trade

Trade 1x Solder (Material) to The Blacksmith for 1x Fibre Optic Cable. The Blacksmith is found in Manufacturing West, so the real task is making Solder before visiting him.

First, craft Uncooked Solder with:

• 1x Full Pot of Water
• 1x Silver Scrap
• 1x Metal Scrap

This can be made at a Crafting Bench or through the inventory crafting menu. Cook the Uncooked Solder to turn it into Solder (Soup), then collect it to receive 4x Solder (Material).

With Solder in your backpack, speak with the Blacksmith and trade for Fibre Optic Cable. You need 5x Fibre Optic Cable to craft every listed item that uses the material, along with the other required ingredients.

Fibre Optic Cable Crafting Uses

As of Update 1.1, Fibre Optic Cable is used in two Crafting Bench recipes: GATE NVGs and the Healing Briefcase.

GATE NVGs

The GATE NVGs are wearable equipment that work like an improved flashlight. Instead of lighting only a small spot, they brighten the full screen.

Crafting recipe:

• 1x Smashed GATE NVGs
• 1x Makeshift NVGs
• 2x Flickering Eye
• 4x Fibre Optic Cable

Healing Briefcase

The Healing Briefcase is reusable and restores health to nearby players within a set radius.

Crafting recipe:

• 1x Briefcase
• 8x Anteverse Wheat
• 2x Solder (Material)
• 1x Fibre Optic Cable

Because Solder produces four material pieces per cooked batch, one cooking run can cover several Blacksmith trades. Just remember that the full equipment set needs five total Fibre Optic Cables, so plan for multiple trades before leaving Manufacturing West.
