Hello, Minecraft players! 👾
Today we're going to talk about one of the most frustrating errors you can encounter on your server: Errors caused by entities ("Entity Ticking"). 😱 But don't worry, here at HolyHosting we're here to help you understand and fix it.
An "Entity Ticking" error occurs when some mob or block in the world becomes corrupted. Normally, you'll see something like this in your crash report: java.lang.nullpointerexception: ticking entity. This type of error can cause your server to crash every time it tries to process the corrupted entity.
A "Ticking Block" error is similar to "Ticking Entity", but related to a block, usually added by a mod.

This is the most severe error. It occurs when there is corruption in the world but a specific entity cannot be located.
The simplest way is to restore a backup of your world.
These reports contain crucial information to remove the corrupted entity, such as the entity type and its coordinates.

If you have the CoFH Core mod, you can use the command /cofh killall to remove the problematic entity without needing to be connected to the server.
